This listing is for. WALTHAM Wm Ellery 18s 11j Mod 1879 Pocket Watch in EZRA E. Very rare case with what appears to be the original movement too! This was possibly the first “dustproof case design” patented by Waltham president Ezra E. The case was professionally cleaned and polished to reveal and amazing silver case with excellent luster! The crown does NOT screw down any longer, but this is an awesome piece of history! Some typical scratches and small-med dents in body as is typical of a silver case. But it has a brand new-old-stock extra-thick original-type beveled-edge glass crystal! Movement is an 18-size Waltham Wm Ellery, Model 1879, 11-Jewel, s/n 2063168. While it is not running, it is complete with good balance, just needs to be serviced. The case is marked: PAT’D APR 22 1879 (Ezra Fitch Patent #214642, screw-down crown, explorer case). Swing-Out design works as it should, very good hinges, case screws, etc. Condition: Good+ Physical Condition – See Pictures! Not running, but complete, so just needs to be serviced. Crown will need to be machined in order to screw-down like it did 125 years ago. Please see all pictures for full review and inspection.
