The 14k gold case is 33.5mm in diameter & weighs approx 32.3 grams. 1901 Waltham, Grade Seaside, Model 1891, 7J, 0S, stem set, stem wind with date serial number 10918395. Here is a very clean Waltham 14k SOLID gold Hunter’s Case pocket watch. Check out how crisp the engraving design is on this pocket watch case!!! This Waltham watch dates back to 1888 per the SIGNED movement’s serial # 3,622,125!!! The 35.4 mm case does not look much different then when it was new in 1888. Most watch cases show some wear from being carried for all of those years. This one must of sat in a drawer most of its life. This Waltham Hunter’s Case watch has a clean SIGNED dial with the sacred heart religious heart on the dial. My research tells me this is a Seaside model and is 9 jewel. Moderl 1882 and is considered to be a size 1 pocket watch. This watch does run but will probably need to be serviced. I believed the movement is gummed up. The lids and the hinges on this antique Waltham watch are good. The crystal is good. Hard to believe this Waltham is as old as it is. Weighs 41.9 grams or 26.9 pennyweigh. This was my grandfather’s Waltham “Seaside” pocket watch with double hunter case with guilloche/engraved exterior. The serial number 4399604 yields a date of approx. 1890 when I look it up at the Pocket Watch Database. The case tests as 14K gold though it does not appear to be marked. You can see the test results in the last photo. I scratched it pretty well from the edge of the tab where one would expect the most wear to be. Also there are no signs of brass peeking through as I would expect for gold fill but I have not done any deeper, more destructive testing. There is what might be a 14 scrawled on the inner layer of the case (2nd to last photo, toward the lower left edge). The watch is approx. 35mm (1.4) across not including the crown, and the total weight is about 40.4g. The watch is not in running condition. I want my buyers to be fully satisfied and I try to be fair and accurate with my descriptions. Here is a clean SOLID 14k Gold Size 0 American Waltham Hunter’s Case Seaside pocket watch that is 115 years old!!! Looks great for being this old. Has a very ornately decorated front & back lids. Really is a crisp sharp case. Because it is gold there are a few dings that really don’t show on the outside but you can see them on the inside of the lids. The hinges are good. This watch measures 34.0 mm across the case not including the ornate bow and crown. Weights 31.0 grams including the movement. This watch is stem wound and stem set and is running but I have no service records to offer. It has a Seaside 15 jewel movement per the serial # 10,450,101. Also known as a Model 1891. Serial # dates this Waltham watch to 1901. Again it is really hard to believe this watch is well over 100 years old. The SIGNED dial is clean. Has blued hands and a red 5 minute outer chapter ring. The second hand looks like it was replaced as it does not match the hour and minute hands. Again this solid gold Waltham watch is running. I sell all my watches as-is and as found.
