Stunning solid 14k gold case on this antique Howard Pocket Watch. It’s a 10s, 17 jewel watch, serial # 1258406 dates the movement to the 1860s, but the case is engraved from 1921. Watch winds a little weird, but runs and the second hand ticks right along for a while. The minute and hour hands turn freely, but don’t move when the watch is running. A group of 20 used antique / vintage open face and hunter pocket watch cases. For PARTS / REPAIR / SCRAP. From a watch repairman’s estate. The cases are presumed gold filled or gold plated; although a few have lost almost all the plate on the outside and. Appear as just brass. Ten of the cases have marks that I recognize as gold filled (such as’WARRANTED, 20 YEARS’). These 10 cases have a gross weight of 255 grams. The other cases have markings like an Indian head, dear head, etc. That I do not know what they stand for. The total gross weight of ALL the cases is 730 grams. Two of the hunter case are designed for key wind movements. I measured the inside diameter of what I thought was about the smallest to the largest case and got. 1.1″ to 1.76″; presumed approximately 3/0 to 18 size for American watches. Please note that some of the cases are MISSING the bezel / crystal / stem / sleeve / bow and are dirty. In good condition; although a some do have dents / light corrosion / heavy scratches and severe brassing on some. One of the small hunter cases has a’poor’ repair to the rear cover and the side of the case, 1/4″ by 1/8″. One of the cases appear to be NOS (New Old Stock) with only light scratches now. This is an antique 18s ILLINOIS keywind hunting case pocket watch in non working order for parts or restoration. The case measures approx. The white enamel dial is in decent shape with mild wear (some hairlines). Missing the second hand but the second hand post is good. The gold filled hunter case is in fair shape with dents all over the case. Not too visible with all the nice floral etchings but they are there. The inner case is stamped. BROOKLYN EAGLE 396254 B. This case is 8K solid gold and I have links and or / info that I will include with the watch to confirm this. The total weight of the case without the movement is 41.5 grams.
