18 size 17 jewel open face lever-set Grade 938 pocketwatch. Scarce and beautifully finished high grade movement with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, mirror finish steelwork, and a terrific fancy nickel damaskeen. Watch is fronted by a double-sunk enamel dial with early style script signature and is housed in an attractive Wadsworth permanent quality gold-filled case with multicolor overlay on the rear. Movement serial number is 10573. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent color and luster. Dial has hairlines in its outer chapter, a small edge chip at the lever-set area, and some flaking to the inner rim of the outer chapter between 10 and 11 O’clock. Case is attractive with a good in hand look and feel but has some wear to brass on the pendent and also in thin strips around the sides. Bow is worn to brass over nearly all of its surface.
