Both sides of this size 6, WM Ellery grade Waltham watch are engraved in an Eastlake style, one side with a six-point cartouche containing a rustic frame with flowers around a building with tower and a border of acorns and oak leaves, and the other with a matching vignette but an empty frame waiting for a monogram. There is a dedication reading F. Mamie” on the inner of two back covers, “14K marks in two places and the watch is in excellent physical condition with a missing second hand. Movement serial number is 1146740. Nickel finish, series 10, size 16s, 21 jewels, openface, lever set, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. The watch case is in good overall condition but shows normal wear and a few marks/small dings around the edges and minor brassing. Swing out mechanism works well. Front bezel screw on and off nicely. Movement runs with robust motion in all positions. This movement has recently been serviced and a new mainspring was installed. Watch is keeping good time. Excellent double sunk RR dial with a few hairlines around the 8 o’clock mark. Hands are in nice condition. Movement produced by the Waltham watch company in 1902. Movement serial number: 12079602. Nickel finish with stunning. Vanguard grade, model 1892, size 18s, 23 jewels, lever set, adjusted to positions, railroad grade. Solid 14K gold BWC Co. Case marked “warranted 14k to assay” with serial number 6219719. Front and back snap shut nicely. Front of case is engraved with initials. Case is in good shape but shows normal wear and slight indentions from closing. There is a dent between the hinges… Probably from a drop. Front cover opens more than 90 degrees… Probably closer to 120 degrees. Back opens to 90 degrees. Case is missing the bow. Plastic lens show some wear. Watch winds and sets wonderfully.
