Hamilton 16 size 956 17J Pocket Watch in Nice Railroad Case. 17 jewel Hamilton grade 956 pocket watch. Stem wind and pendant set. Watched is housed in what appears to be the original Scepter yellow gold-filled railroad style case. Watch is running strongly as I write this and sets fine. You must push down in crown while winding to get stem to engage, but it winds smoothly. Nickel plates nice and bright. Case has a ring of brass on edge of back cover, case threads are good, a nice solid case overall. Original porcelain dial has edge chip at 4 and several light hairlines. Please see my other auctions. Illinois 16s Model 8 Dial. 16 size double-sunk enamel pocket watch dial for hunting case Model 8 or Model 12 movement. Rare railroad style dial correct for a hunting case Bunn Special, Bunn, A. Lincoln, or Sangamo Special of appropriate vintage. Feet positions are correct to Model 8 and Model 12 movements, and excellent dials such as this for these railroad grade hunting case models are extremely hard to come by. Absolutely beautiful dial but with a few very mild flaws along its outermost perimeter – a small faint hairline tight along the edge outside the 40 to 42 minute positions, a very small faint hairline tight along the edge outside the 35 minute position, and a minuscule edge flake outside the 19 minute position.
