Fairly scarce Rockford 545 Railroad pocket watch, only 5500 or so are known to have been produced, (some estimates are much lower). This 16 Size watch is in a Keystone’J. Boss’ 14K yellow gold filled double hinge case. The 21 Jewel Fully Adjusted Class A Railroad Grade movement winds & sets smoothly and runs strong. Correct thick glass beveled crystal. Watch has a clean appearance inside and out. Case shows very shallow indentions to the back, difficult to see…. Use the zoom for a super close-ups. Guaranteed 25 years pocket watch case is in excellent condition. It has a few dents dings In the photo Of the back cover you can see where it was once very lightly engraved with a flower perhaps? It is cut for a lever set movement and is triple hinged. The front bezel and hinged as is the dust cover and the rear cover. Problems to note are that it is engraved on the inside of the dust cover and possibly on the back of the rear cover. I can’t tell if the markings on the rear cover are initials or just a design. The markings on the rear cover are very faint. There are no threads. It is in very good shape all the way around. This case weighs 46 grams. The item “16S J. Offered is an 18s Elgin 23J Veritas RR pocket watch. The watch has flaws: the dial should be replaced, and it is not running due to at least a bad balance staff. However, the Boss 25 year case is crisp and nearly new – glass crystal, stiff bow, only flaw is minor scratching near where the back separates from the body, not distracting and mentioned only for accuracy. The movement with it’s gold train and jewel settings and diamond cap jewels is stunning. Offered is a scarce KW Elgin Frances Rubie pocket watch. There are supposed to be 3 runs of 1000 of these, but I believe none have been found from the third run. This one has an early Boss patent gold-filled case, the only brass showing is the bow. The front cover opens to slightly beyond 90 degrees. The movement has bright gilding – nicer than most, but has a broken balance staff so is not running. Don’t miss this scarce watch.
