The Vintage Hampden Grade Special Railway 18s 23 jewel pocket watch is snap bezel display case. Watch is currently running as shown on the time graph photos. Case lids are very different to snap on and off so buyers is aware. I use been using a razor blade to pop them off. The front bezel to access the setting lever takes a lot of pressure to go back on. Crystals are all thick class. I would consider the case more of a poor quality one. The movement as it runs can see on the time graph it’s not running the best but stays running and keeps very close time till the mainspring is let down. Dial has some imperfections but in nice shape. Condition can be made by your own judgement by photos. Great piece to just displays the gorgeous movement.
Very nice sterling silver case with multicolor gold inlays on the back! Original sterling silver bow. Runs and keeps time, service history unknown. Slightly low amplitude, should be serviced for optimal timekeeping and preservation in the long run. Crystal has some scratches. As-is Vintage watch policy: “Parts/Repair/Service”. This listing is considered “for parts or service only” because ALL vintage watches need service, if they have not been recently serviced. There are 2 ways of doing this: either (1) add all the listings to your cart, and then check out through the cart; or (2) send me a message after having bought the items and I can send a combined invoice. USA Buyers: UPS Standard. All other international buyers: Canada Post International Tracked Packet. The sooner you pay, the sooner you get your items! Measurements in the photos or description are taken by hand and subject to minor error. Measuring devices that may be shown are NOT included in sale. If a timegrapher photo is not shown, then a watch described as “running” or “keeping time” was tested by simply winding the watch and observing it run over a period of a few hours. Any more accuracy than this general observation is not implied except for when explicitly stated. Please feel free to message me, and check out my other listings!

The watch is wound too tight. The case measures 54.7mm wide. The back case cover has a Stag engraved on it (see picture 2). The case shows wear and has some tarnish. The dial is marked Hampden Watch Co. There is a crack between the 5 and 6 o’clock positions (see picture 5). The inside of the front and back covers are marked Warranted 14k E. Co which makes this case a gold filled case. The inside of the movement cover is marked with a flag with a star in the center of it. The movement is marked Dueber Grand, Canton, Ohio, 17 Jewels. This is a lever fusses movement. Has a brass cover over the movement. Has a Heavy beveled glass crystal. Comes with a silver heavy chain. And it was made in 1892 so it is 133 years old. The heavy duty silver chain is a new chain. Comes with the original brass key to set the time on the hands. And wind the main spring. It dident have a fancy silver chain when I bought this watch. And it needed to be polished. Please note I do not sell very old hard to find antique key wound pocket watches that need no repair runs and keeps time by 20 sec. So a dealer could resale it for much more.
