Please read the detailed description and if in any doubt, ask questions. Superb 57mm Silver Key-wind Fusee Pocket Watch Beautiful Case and GWO. An excellent fusee pocket watch, in good cosmetic condition, in a lovely case and with a good movement running well. The dial is in good condition I see no chips or cracks but there are a couple of very, very hairlines just left of centre (see photo) which are very difficult to see. All hands are present, correct and matching. The case is silver, measures about 57mm in diameter and carries is hallmarked for Chester 1886. It is a truly lovely case with engraving and chasing to the rear cover and sides, showing very little wear. The rear cover also has some gold or copper? All covers close well, the rear cover needs a little help from a thumbnail to open (as is so often the case) and the crystal is excellent. The movement is partly jewelled and carries the serial number 44005, the last three digits of which are repeated on the case. It winds, sets and runs well. A key will be provided. A superb fusee pocket watch, one of the best in my collection but it is time for it to go to raise some funds. Priced realistically to sell, probably on the low side if anything, and at a level where I cannot really look at offers. Alternatively, collection is possible at a mutually convenient date and time from Shrivenham, just east of Swindon, Wiltshire. Antique Solid Silver Cased Waltham Half Hunter Riverside Pocket Watch. Antique Solid Silver Cased Waltham Half Hunter Riverside Gentlemans Pocket Watch. This is a splendid antique side winder solid silver cased Waltham Riverside Half Hunter Gentlemans pocket watch. Birmingham assay office hallmarks for 1888. High quality 15 jewels Waltham Riverside movement with lever escapement and split bi-metal balance wheel with timing screws, breguet overcoil hairspring, Fog Tadpole regulator. This movement is very rare as the run quantity was only 500. The watch is in full working order and has just been serviced by my watch repairer and is keep very good time. Crown wind and lever set. To set the time you must pull out the lever on the side of the watch and then turn the crown wind to turn the hands and push the lever back in again. The case is in very good condition for its age as can be seen in the pictures The lids all shut nice and tight and all the hinges are in good condition. The front lid has blue Roman numerals around the front lens so the time could be seen without opening the front lid. The front lid will spring open by pushing down the crown wind showing that the front case opening mechanism is working perfectly. Vacant cartouche on the back lid and nice handsome bow. Silver case maker A. AB (Alfred Bedford) was the manager of the Waltham Watch Co, Holborn Circus, London. Near mint condition white enamel dial with bold black Roman numerals and minute markers around the outside of the dial and with sunken subsidiary second dial. Original blue steel spade hands and as new acrylic crystal. October 1890 – February 1891. Key, Lever, or Pin/Lever. 1954 Waltham “Gray Book” List. The watch is 50 mm in diameter and weighs 115 grams. 1890 RARE PAIR CASED / ONLY 69000 MADE ELGIN G M WHEELER SILVER 18S POCKET WATCH. Ll be honest, its the first time I have ever seen an Elgin pair case pocket watch, even rarer with the large gold image of a horse & jockey on the back!!!! 1890, G M Wheeler, Grade 44, Model 5, Class 9, 18S, either 15J or 17J, stem set with date serial number 3506121. Research revealed that a total of only 69,000 were produced of this model during 1890 making it quite rare, even rare being pair cased. Working, ticking strongly and was tested over a 19 hour period and kept near perfect time, maybe lost 10 to 20 seconds. May need a service though as when winding, the winder pulled out of the stem. The outer Fays Senior Coin (silver). Case is 58.4mm in diameter with serial number U3076. The inner case is 50.2mm in diameter, same serial number U3076 but is not stamped silver. Dial has a few cracks, glass has wear, unsure if the horse and jockey are gold or gold plated. Local Brisbane pick-up welcomed. Start the balance wheel with the blow tool, and it runs for awhile, then quits. Seems to need cleaning. No cracks in the porcelain dial, but it is missing a glass crystal.
