Pocket Watch Case

Beautiful Doxa 8 day goliath pocket watch in a heavy screw lidded brass case. This dates to 1910-20 and would have been used for a car boat or plane. Watch measures 64mm in diameter and the case across the lid is 85mm in diameter. The white enamel dial has hair lines between 9 and 5 and the dial is marked doxa 8 days. The watch is running but has not been checked for time keeping. A rare survivor with its original case. Any questions please ask. HALF HUNTER PAIR CASED VERGE FUSEE Pocket Watch. Recently fully serviced and in great working condition! Runs the full length of the chain with a hard sounding tick and keeping very well verge time I noticed almost no deviation per 24 hours runtime – WOW!!!! The movement shines like it was made yesterday, is signed “Mt Drayton” from Arkinstall and bears the serial number 4154. Nice old blue steel hands. All covers open and close with a tight fit as it should. Enamel dial with roman numerals in a splendid condition! Both cases have indentical hallmarks for London, year 1832. Cases are solid sterling silver, hand polished and looking great. Original old watchpaper and a fitting key are included. A superb addition to each valuable collection. French Berthoud Silver Verge Pocket Watch 1800. A rare early 19th century silver open faced verge continental French pocket watch. The watch was made by the Eminent watch maker Berthoud from Paris and is signed on the dial and the movement: Berthoud à Paris. This watch is in working order with the plus of recently coming back from the watchmaker. It is rare to find a Berthoud in such an excellent condition as this one. Berthoud was a famous and important French watch maker with his works on display in many museums ; its a privilege to have a watch by Berthoud. Dial: The watch has a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer Arabic minutes and nicely pierced gold hands. The dial is signed in the centre: “Berthoud à Paris”. The watch is key wound at the front and comes with an old watch key. The dial is in very good condition, many front wind dials suffer from key damage around the winding hole. This dial has no chips or damage. Case: The watch sits in a plain silver case which fits perfectly with the movement. The case has the stamp mark GAB with a crown above. Early French case marks are not my speciality, so not able to provide any further info on the case mark. The case measures 46mm in diameter. Movement: The full plate gilt fusee verge movement is in good working order and keeps to quite good time however I cannot guarantee perfection as it is a 219 year old plus antique watch. It has a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator disk, plain round pillars between the plates.
