This is a HUGE antique GOLIATH DOXA RAILROAD open face pocket watch for restoration. Circa late 1800s to early 1900s. The large case measures 68.1mm in diameter. The white enamel MONTGOMERY style dial is in decent shape with hairlines and edge chips. The SILVER or NICKEL plated? Open case is in good shape with normal wear. The inner case is stamped. The movement is unmarked. Stem wind & nail or button set. It will run when you shake it but it appears to have a broken balance staff. Just to show how big this pocket watch is, I put it right next to an 18 size pocket watch (18s not included see photo below). This watch makes that 18 size look like a 6 size. Early Verge fusee pocket watch in silver repouse case. The movement is signed by the maker Worke London. Silver hallmarks in the inner watch case date the watch; London 1771. Not in working order, when light pressure is applied to the minute hand the movement works. (when released it stops). From the glass cover the hinge is broken on one side. The Beautifull repouse outer case shows signs of wear due to age and use. In the movement there is some corrosion. Please look at all pictures as part of the description. A superB Antique silver pair case Verge Fusee Pocket watch. Perfectly working verge fusee movement with a beautiful pierced. And engraved balance bridge , the movement is signed with Gothic style. Letters, sorry but I cant read the name from the maker. Maybe someone else knows whats written there? The movement winds smoothly and runs with a great motion in all positions. The whole chain down, keeps reasonable verge time. The dial and the crystal glass are in a very good condition. The Sterling Silver watch cases are made by the watch case maker. William Lindsley of London, initials WL with deer trade mark. The cases are clearly identical hallmarked for the city London. Year letter C what stands for the year 1818. The cases are clean and bright, all covers closing nice and tight. Across 58mm, including bow 79mm. Thick 23mm, weight 134 grams. Overall this is really a beautiful Sterling silver genuine Antique. 200 year old verge watch. In a fine working condition. Will be delivered with a fitting key, and an extra key set of 14 pcs.
