New Railway 23 Jewel. 16 size 23 jewel hunting case lever-set New Railway pocketwatch. Very scarce high grade early hunting case railroad watch. Movement is marked with the N. Initials in a flag to designate the New Railway grade. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial and is housed in a nicely engraved 20 year gold-filled Dueber hunting case. Movement serial number is 1043484. Running and a nice looking movement but does have a few surface scratches. Balance cock screw is steel colored while other movement plate screws are gold flashed. Dial faces up well but has scattered hairlines in the outer chapter and also has some edge flaking underneath the bezel outside the 5 O’clock area. Case appears likely the original to the watch and is attractive with just mild even wear to the engraving and some minor wear to brass in some areas round the edges of the frame, neck, and bow. Absolutely Stunning 1902 17 Jewel 16 size Illinois Getty Gold filled Buck Hunter case pocket watch. Outstanding Cream colored metallic dial with bold black numbers and Bright Blue colored hands. Cover springs open perfectly to 90 degrees. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together. The bow is nice and stiff. The glass crystal is spotless. The movement is gleaming and super clean. The Illinois 17 jewel movement serial number 1638758 dates to 1902. The 16 size 3/4 plate Getty model lever set movement has beautiful slanted demaskeening and a spotless winding wheel. Pocket watch sets and runs outstanding with all pivots lightly oiled and the balance with beautiful motion and has been keeping outstanding time. Note all of my pocket watches have been personally serviced and restored to there best working order according to there age and condition. The 114 year old Getty model is a high quality Illinois movement. The Mint condition Gold filled Dueber Special 25 year G/F case has unbelievable crisp detail with The large full Buck design and surrounding detail on the rear cover and a spotless clean open shield on the front. The dust cover has some light scratching on it. The enamel shows not chipping, but does show some small dings when held in the right light. The dial has one hairline fracture to distract. Bunn Special 23J 60 Hour. 16 size 23 jewel open face lever-set Bunn Special 60 Hour pocketwatch. Very nice looking example of this top grade railroad watch fronted by a double-sunk enamel “Illinois, Bunn Special, 23 Jewel 60 Hour” signed dial and housed in the very attractive white gold-filled Model 206 Bunn Special case. Movement is the scarcer late marking variant of the Type III 60 hour which was produced after Hamilton’s takeover and is marked as “Illinois Watch” rather than Illinois Watch Co. Movement serial number is 5218769. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent color and luster. Dial faces up very nicely but does have a light hairline in the center section and also two very light hairlines at the bottom below the seconds-bit. Case has an excellent in hand look and feel and is far stronger than most Model 206 examples and case has just some weakness to the bow with some minor wear to brass on the bow, some looseness/play to the bow, and a small split to part of the lower left portion of the bow where it meets the neck. Presenting a vintage mens Patek Philippe pocket watch, originally retailed by and signed by Thomas Kirkpatrick. Movement is not signed by Patek, but plate layout, design, and finish as well as the quality and mechanism of the watch are in keeping with that of a Patek. Dial is a snap on style dial, also in keeping with a Patek, and Thomas Kirkpatrick was a well known American jeweler known for retailing Patek Philippe watches at the turn of the 20th century.
