HAMPDEN NEW RAILWAY 23 JEWEL 16s RARE HUNTING CASE RAILROAD POCKET WATCH

New Railway 23 Jewel. 16 size 23 jewel hunting case lever-set New Railway pocketwatch. Very scarce high grade early hunting case railroad watch. Movement is marked with the N. Initials in a flag to designate the New Railway grade. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial and is housed in a nicely engraved 20 year gold-filled Dueber hunting case. Movement serial number is 1043484. Running and a nice looking movement but does have a few surface scratches. Balance cock screw is steel colored while other movement plate screws are gold flashed. Dial faces up well but has scattered hairlines in the outer chapter and also has some edge flaking underneath the bezel outside the 5 O’clock area. Case appears likely the original to the watch and is attractive with just mild even wear to the engraving and some minor wear to brass in some areas round the edges of the frame, neck, and bow.
