This antique pocket watch is in excellent+ condition, it runs and keeps accurate time. The case shows virtually no wear. The lid pops up nicely when the crown is pressed. This watch is 128 years old. There are no dents or cracks and no worn spots on the case. The diameter of the case is 1 5/8 inches excluding the bow and crown. The movement is marked HAMPDEN WATCH CO. The movement is ornately engraved. It is an 11 jewel movement. The porcelain dial is marked HAMPDEN. The dial is in perfect condition, no small cracks or chips. There is no name or monogram on the watch. This is a particularly beautiful antique watch in amazing condition. I believe it is a size 4 American movement, I have only just learned the sizing so I measured the movement with a E & J Swigart rule, if something on this size sounds incorrect let me know. Assay 38308 Marked inside 2nd back cover 38308 Movement marked: Elgin Natl’ Watch Co, 2790385, Safety Pinion This watch winds and starts right up. Runs strong and I would not know if it keeps correct time. I couldn’t pull up to wind knob to try and move the hands (I didn’t want to break anything, so I didn’t test that part). It is monogrammed on the front on the shield. Back of outer cover shows 6 pointed star. All very fancy design all sides. Outside of case shows light hand grime and all in very nice condition. There is a hairline on the enamel face at the #7, and very tight light hairlines at #11. No other issues on any other areas noticed. Questions let me know. Please see all pics.
