MOVADO Vintage Pocket Watch Manual Winding Swiss Made Small Second 42mm Case. No box, no manual. There are scratches due to aging, but it is in good condition. Although it is operating normally, please understand that it may require repair or maintenance because it is a very old second-hand product. Since the size is measured by an amateur, please allow for some errors. Case type: open face. Movement: Manual winding (15 jewels). Case material: stainless steel. Case size: Approximately 42mm (excluding crown). Setting the time: pull the crown. Country of manufacture: Switzerland. There are no noticeable scratches on the dial or windshield. Overhaul history is unknown. This is a one-of-a-kind vintage item. HIGH QUALITY VERGE FUSEE, 1805, PAIR CASE, SMALL SECONDS DIAL & STOP- WATCH FOR DOCTOR. This antique Master Piece has to be seen, and heard and felt in your hands to fully appreciate it. It is absolutely perfect in every way. Even though it is 217 Years old, from 1805! Naturally the BIG and HIGH QUALITY VERGE FUSEE MOVEMENT RUNS STRONGLY. The Watch is oversized at 58 mm and it has two cases. Both inner-& outer Case is Guided on solid Silver. Unusually for the Time of Napoleon, this Pocket Watch is equipped with a small Seconds Hand and Sub-dial at the 6 oClock position. Note that Verge movements have gear ratios that doesn’t allow to just put Seconds Hand on the third wheel. Usually the third wheel doesn’t make one Turn per 60 seconds. It need to make special Effort and Calculations, to make Gears that make one Turn in 60 Seconds. It is very rare to see Second Hand on Verges of this Time! This pocket watch was especially made for a Doctor and it also has a STOP FUNCTION. Possibly many Doctors have inherited this precious and expensive Watch and used it at their services. The Mainspring has been fully wound more than 24 hours ago and it is still running with CA 30minutes late.. This is truely to be expected from a Verge Fusee Watch of that Age! The Large DIAL is in Good Condition. Expert Advice explained that the dial may have been replaced around 1880 with this flat dial. It has Large Roman Numerals. The CONVEX GLASS above it, is also in excellent condition. So is the seconds sub-dial and hand. Just like the finest and hardened Watch Hands. Please examine the Fotos as they are part of the description. On the Guilded Backcover is a ornate engraving what looks like a C T K entwined. The inner and outer Case opens and shuts well. Care is necessary not to touch the little leaver of the Stop watch mechanism on the side of the inner Case. From the inner Case the Mainspring is wound and from the Front at the centre of the Hands the watch is Set for the right time. Yes, the Watch needs very gentle Hands, but than again it has survived perfectly for almost 220 Years. Thank you for watching and looking at my item. Small Antique Silver Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watch. Signed Geo Taylor London 1782. Needs some work, not presently working but complete. Complete with winding key. The gilt fusee movement with verge escapement is signed and numbered 8969. With square baluster pillars. Enamel convex dial with Arabic and Roman numerals and. Steel beetle and poker hands, enclosed under a bulls eye, domed glass. Both cases with the London hallmark for 1782 and maker’s mark IR. The outer case is 50mm in diameter. In the back of the outer case are four watchmakers repair labels the earliest one dated 1830 from Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. It is marked for a Mr A Smith, North Docks August 2 1830.
