It has a really a beautiful high grade 21 jewel movement and it is in the original amazing gold filled Hunter’s case! This special watch is in excellent condition and runs great! Movement: This watch runs great and keeps very good time. The really beautiful high grade movement is all original and has 21 ruby jewels, adjusted to 6 positions, temperature and isochronism. It is lever set and has a double roller. It has beautiful gold screw settings, an all gold gear train, and gold balance weights! It is in really excellent condition! Dial : The original double sunk dial is in very good condition, with no issues. Case : The lovely original gold filled Dueber Hunter’s case is in excellent condition, and is beautifully decorated! This Illinois Sangamo Special RR grade watch was made in about 1925. I believe it to be a 17 size and to be an unmarked 60 hour motor barrel. It is in it’s original case. The dial is silvered metal and I believe it could also be original as I’ve read that these Sangamo Specials could be ordered with such. These dials are – I think – less common that enamel ones. The hands have some bends. The crystal is glass – it can come out when you open the front cover – though it doesn’t always. The movement is lever set. The watch winds, sets and runs well. I will check the timekeeping the next day or so. The case has some wear to the 14k gold filling – most noticeable on the pendant and bow but also around some of the edges of the covers and case. The back cover has a very small mark or indent near the center. The hinges are good and the covers open and close as they should. Running about 30sec fast a day so likely wants a clean/oil. Not only this watch is rare do to being a sixty hour signed movement but it is also rare because it is housed in a original and solid Sangamo Special 14 karat Green Gold Case. Movement serial number 4758916, made in 1926. It works well and keeps excellent time. Dial is glass enameled double sunk Montgomery style. One hairline at 26 minute mark and surface scratch at 1 o’clock. Diamond shape blued steel hands are 100% original and in great shape. Solid 14 karat green gold and original Sangamo Special. Hinges are very strong, only wear is on the bow and crown. Covers open and close perfectly.
