Pocket Watch Case

This is serial number C7019. It has a Gold center wheel. This is a seldom seen U. Army marked Hamilton 992 B. These are usually only found in the Hamilton serial numbers under C10000. After that they are marked U. The watch has been running for over a month and keeps good time. The Plates are clean and I don’t see any scratches or screwdriver marks. The original Hamilton dial #024 is a Single Sunk enamel Montgomery. I looked it over with a loupe and did find a small hairline at the 1 minute marker on the edge. The case is the correct Keystone Base Metal Military model. The serial numbers on the center ring and back cover don’t match. Very few of these Military watches have matching case numbers because of the way they were cleaned in groups and no thought was given to matching up the case serial numbers in the Military. I don’t end auctions early. I don’t part out watches for higher profits and discourage this practice. The item “U. S. It was produced in 1887 with serial # is 2788687. The movement is beautiful with nickel finish. It is lever set, works well and keeps great time. The enamel dial is gorgeous. It is fancy with multi color flower scene. It is simply in mint condition. Case is in excellent shape as well. It is solid 14 karat gold and signed Waltham. Front cover is spring open. The outside of the case is marked Hamilton Watch – The Watch of Railroad Accuracy. The case is marked on the inside as well Hamilton Watches. Inside the case are 10 Hamilton display pocket watch cases. I did not clean anything or do anything to this case. Everything is exactly as I have found it. Each case has one bezel that is marked Hamilton. Four of the cases are missing crystals. All of the case except for one are missing bows. Three cases are missing stems and bows. A few of the cases have a bit of corrosion but it looks like it will clean off. There is a little bit of a gap on the inside of the case at the right hand side. Each spot for a case has a loose piece of velvet. The rest of the velvet is not loose it. I don’t know if the velvet was replaced at one time or that is just how it was made. Overall the outer case is in nice condition for its age. The locks on the front of the case are marked W&S Inc. The case measures approximately 15″x8.25″x1.25. Check out my other items. The dial features black roman numeral time markers along with red arabic roman numerals at five minute intervals. The movement has a richly dameskeened finish and is engraved in black reading. AMERICAN WALTHAM WATCH CO. The 14K front cover pops open to 90 degrees when stem is depressed just as it should. The inside rear cover is stamped WARRANTED 14K U.
