For sale is a hallmarked gold memento mori pocket watch. It is in fine condition and is still in working order. A smart leather case is included for FREE. Most likely a watch made for those in the medical profession, this skulls head memento mori watch would have served as a reminder of wisdom of Ecclesiastes as well as an exhortation to continue the difficult and spiritually challenging, but good and necessary, work of doctors and healers the world over. It is a beautiful piece bought as a reminder during the decline and ultimate passing of a close relative that has served its purpose. Hopefully it will go to a new owner that can gain similar strength from it or, at the very least, a collector who will care for it. As is expected with an item of this age, there are minor cosmetic blemishes. However, most of which are on interior of the case and are particularly minor. CYMA Retro Art Deco Tank-Styled Watch, Rare 900 Silver Case, Original Velvet Box. This is a rare find CYMA retro tank-styled wristwatch, originally intended for men but is more unisex today. Most tank-styled Cyma are gold-plated or in stainless steel, but this one has an original 900 Silver case. At 26.5 mm wide (not counting the crown), this is also a larger watch than the mid-century retro art deco watches (usually only 22 mm wide). The dial is in beautiful matte silver finish, with calligraphy printed Arabic numerals, a second sub-dial, and cathedral hands. The watch has a 17 jewels Cyma hand-winding movement that has been tested to be keeping good time. The condition of this watch is excellent – only usual minor buffs that are hardly noticeable at all. The 900 Silver case will tend to tarnish over time and need some wiping with a silver polishing cloth occasionally. The watch is still kept in its original Cyma velvet watch box with tag attached. The glass is very very high domed bull nose mineral clean and clear. The fire gilt movement look just like the day it left the work shop. The watch runs very well the time keeping is great + or – 1-2 minuets per hour. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OVER 300 TO RUN THIS WELL WHAT A GREAT WATCHMAKER HAYDON WAS. RARE 1885 Waltham 7J Size 8s Seaside Pocket Watch – 10k Solid Gold Hunter Case. When fully wound and placed on a timegrapher in the dial up position for 1 minute, it shows the watch gaining approximately +18 seconds per day. Although it seems to keep good time, I have seen it stop prematurely on occasion, so I would suggest having it serviced. Some small cracks in the dial near 5:00. Some small dents in the case which are hard to see in the photos due to the engraving. Some case knife marks where the caseback is opened. 10k Solid Gold Hunter Case – (tested). 7 Jewel Gilt Model 1873 Seaside Grade Lever Set Movement. Watch diameter 41.9 mm. VERY GOOD, RARE ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVER CONSULAR CASED VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH LONDON c1859. Antique, early Victorian gentleman’s sterling silver, consular cased, verge fusee Pocket Watch by Debois & Wheeler of London. The firm of Desbois & Wheeler were well respected makers of good quality watches. The English made, sterling silver case is in good condition. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The case maker’s mark “EH”, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard’s Head London town mark and the date letter “d” for 1859/60. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche that is free of initials. He white enamel dial is in very good condition for it’s age, only some little nibbles and some very short hairlines on the edge. It has the hours in Roman numerals. The good quality verge movement is signed “Desbois & Wheeler, London” and has the serial number 1631. The watch measures 49mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
