Scarce early 18sz Hampden 23 jewel model 4 Railroad grade hunter case pocket watch. This all original watch was made in 1898, and it is running great and keeping time. The watch has a beautiful 23 jewel high grade 2 tone nickel movement with gold movement screws and gold inlay, engraved script and gold screw down jewel settings all in great condition. The movement is marked NEW RAILWAY, ADJUSTED, 23 JEWELS, THE HAMPDEN WATCH CO. CANTON OHIO with Ser# 1201350. The original double sunk Railroad style porcelain dial is in great condition. I see a couple of very minor hairlines only with a loupe. The rare original Deuber 10K engraved Gold Filled Triple Hinged Full Hunter Case is also in great condition and is marked on both back and dust covers, Deuber Watch Case Co. The case is outstanding and both back and front covers open and close as they should. Watch has a period 15 mesh chain with a great little advertising fob from E. We offer for your consideration a vintage 10k gold filled HAMILTON RAILWAY SPECIAL open face pocket watch from a 90 year-old lady’s estate. This watch was kept in the family and works beautifully with an easy twist dial on the top. It measures just over 2 across. The back casing twists open and closes easily. The mechanics on the interior appear as fresh as original; it is all clean and free of obvious tarnish or rust. You will note from the photos the watch is clean. The white face is clean. The blue hands move easily and keep time perfectly. The seconds hand moves nicely. The front crystal is intact and free of noticeable issues or blemishes. The casing shows minor age related wear with rub and scratches, but nothing significant. This watch weighs 109g with the chain included on the tray, and 99g without the tray. It is marked 21j. We will pack this item with care to ensure safe travels. Our small rural post office is closed on Saturday. Illinois Bunn Special 21 Jewel Railroad Pocket Watch. This Illinois railroad watch is 16 size (case diameter 50 mm). The movement is marked Bunn Special, with 21 jewels, raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, and is marked Adjusted Temp. And 6 Positions as required for railroad service. Themovement condition is exceptionally nice – I see no flaws. This watch is in the original “Bunn Special Model” railroad case. The case is pink gold filled with moderate wear, and has a ring of brass along the back edge, bezel, crown, and on the bow. The back has some extremely faint waves. This is an honest, original case that has been carried a fair bit. Most railroad pocket watches were working watches and were carried 6 or 7 days a week. The original, double sunk dial is porcelain and has correct plum-colored hands and bold numerals both correct for the time period. The dial has NO chips, and NO hairlines. This watch was made in about 1924. This watch runs and keeps reasonable time, but I do not know the history of this watch, so it may need to be serviced. Sorry, this is NOT a “Make Offer” listing.
