Pocket Watch Case

According to the serial this Hamilton size 18 grade 929 and dates to 1897. The dial and hands are very clean with no hairlines. The crystal is glass and unblemished. The case looks original and is 25 year gold filled and about average condition with flattened details, some brassing on the bow. The crown works good. The is an engraving on the outside of the inner lid. All the lids work good and the front on open nicely when the crown is pushed. It opens a little more that 90. The movement is 15 jewel, lever set. It runs good and keeps time. Looks like this watch was used with care, but for many years. The diameter is 2 13/64. Illinois 18s Bunn Special RR 21J 2-tone Original 4oz Coin Silver Running Great! A fine 21 jewel railroad timepiece. This watch is running strong after a full service in 2021 and keeping good time. The 2-Tone is strong and the plates are beautifully damaskeened. The case appears to be original to the movement and is 4oz coin silver by Keystone. The covered open and close as they should. The case shows moderate wear. The watch runs strong and the lever-set / stem wound movement functions as new. Excellent balance amplitude and nice and flat. The original porcelain dial is very good but does have a small chip at 12:00 that is covered by the bezel. I also note a very fine hairline between 5 and 6. Overall, the watch presents very well. Antique Hampden Hayward 18s 11j Gold Filled Hunting Case Pocket Watch, ca 1884. A very attractive men’s 18 size Hampden gold filled antique pocket watch with a very interesting paper label inside the case with matching numbers. Movement is a Hayward grade serial number 314733 and is an early Hampden made in Springfield Massachusetts. A very nice good running movement that keeps time but I have not checked it over a long period. Nice gilding on movement. Case is a high-quality Dueber case that is warranted for 20 years and does show where but very little brass. Great original paper label and a very heavy high quality case. Dial is the original Hampden dial In nice condition with original hands. Case opens and closes as it should and lids close tightly. Watches lever sat in wines and sets well.
