Huge & Beautiful Russian 19th Century Silver Hunter Pocket Watch Case Only63mm. Solid case that needs a bezel and a front cover catch, it has a catch spring but I’m not sure it about its condition. Rare Massive 58.5mm 1878 18′s 177grams (nearly 6 Troy Ounces) Elgin Advance Hunting Case Key Wind and Key Set (on the dial side) Pocket Watch. In clean working order. On the inside of the back cover there is a lot of lightly scratch marks-notes as shown. Watch is in working order but timing may be necessary. Serial number dates it to approx. 1878 and it is marked ass then Advance model as pictured. It is 11 jewel m model 1, grade 13, class 5. Case Material– Coin Silver. Movement Type–Manual Wind – key wind and set. Dial Condition– Very nice with slight age use imperfection as pictured. Great original hands as shown. Case Condition– Nice with imperfections -see above and a slight ding as pictured. Case Size– see above. Special Features — Massive size! Comes with a non-original winding key as shown. Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working Giant SHREVE, CRUMP & LOW CO. BOSTON Jeweled Swiss Deco Mechanical Wind-Up Huge 70mm Pocket Watch, Circa 1900. This Has a Porcelain Dial, Signed Shreve Crump & Low Co. Boston, With Ornate Fancy Gold Hands, in Good Condition. The Movement is a High End Jeweled Swiss Mechanical Wind-Up Pin Set Movement in Good Working Order. This is Huge like a Doxa Pocket Watch, and Measures approx. This Has a Silver Plated Large Heavy Open Face Case in Good Cosmetic Condition, as Pictured, With Normal Wear from Age! This will make a Nice Addition to any Collection! The case has been acid tested for validity as well. Please take a look at the pictures for condition and as you can see in the last picture the exact weight is 59.5 g of 14 karat gold.

This huge 14K solid gold hunter case timepiece displays true to form Howard quality throughout. Leaf and flower patterns and an uninitialed shield decorate the front cover. Similar patterns along with a lakeside cabin and sailboat scene are displayed on the back cover. The center ring or frame of the case features a combination of readed and beaded designs. Although the case shows normal pocket wear from daily carry, the designs are worn but still visible. In spite of the wear, the case has remained very tight and well cared for. There are no dents, dings or deep scratches anywhere to be found and the case faces up very nicely. The front cover springs open sharply when released and stops just shy of 90 degrees as it should. The back and dust covers open in the same manner. The hinges are tight with no play or wobble in them at all. A readed ring surrounds the dust cover and all covers close tight leaving no play or gaps at all. The pumpkin style crown is sharp and the bow is tight. The case is marked B. W. C. Co. This case was manufactured by the Brooklyn Watch Case Co. The single sunk, white porcelain dial is marked E. Howard & Co – Boston. Black Roman hour chapters along with minute marks surround the dial and blue moon style hands center the dial. I can find NO hairlines, cracks or chips in the dial at all and the glass crystal is scratch free and set in a readed bezel. The N size (18), 15 jewel, Series IV, stem wind and set, Nickel, 3/4 plate movement is bright and beautiful displaying typical, E Howard superior quality! The plates are bright and crisp. Gold screw down jewel settings, bright blue plate screws and detailed damaskeening all highlight the movement. It is signed E. Boston – N. The serial number 49451 dates this piece back to circa 1880. The case covers are thick and heavy in gold and this timepiece is substantial when held in hand. Overall measurements of the timepiece are 58mm (2 1/4″) wide x 82mm (3 1/4″) from the top of the bow to the base of the case x 16mm (5/8) thick. Exact total weight of the watch is 161.5 grams (5.70 oz)! The watch winds and sets smooth. It is running strong and keeping excellent time. This timepiece was obviously carried on a daily basis. As you hold this piece in hand, its pretty easy to overlook the wear when noting how solid the case and hinges have remined. Most watches of this caliber and quality have been hoarded away in private collections. I search the market regularly for gold timepieces and watches like this rarely pop up anymore.
