There are multiple high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. A very good looking well made and decorative pocket watch, it is a Goliath as mentioned which is about 30% larger than a standard pocket watch. The case is in lovely antique condition, its easel backed so you can use this table mounted, I think the idea was protection and to sit on a bedside table or desk so you dont have to whip out your watch every time you need to check the clock. The watch has a white porcelain hand painted dial with blue hands, its signed Asprey Bond Street London, Swiss made, it has the normal minute and hour hands and then under a seconds subsidiary dial. The case is silver plated I think as I cant see any hallmarks, it does have lots of engraving including the word Argentan, Swiss and serial numbers. The back opens as one back plate, the original paper label is there which reads J Mortimer FBHI practical watchmaker jeweller 18 Kirkgate Ripon, you then open the second back plate which is also engraved with serial numbers and the word Argentan. The watch movement is protected by a glass plate which of course makes this an exhibition case. The watch operates perfectly and has a lovely sound. Date letter Q for 1915. The ships anchor for Birmingham. Sideways facing Lion for 925/1000 grade sterling silver. Height:- 9.2cm. Width:- 6.5cm. Depth:- 1.8cm. Width:- 10.2cm. Beautiful Doxa 8 day goliath pocket watch in a heavy screw lidded brass case. This dates to 1910-20 and would have been used for a car boat or plane. Watch measures 64mm in diameter and the case across the lid is 85mm in diameter. The white enamel dial has hair lines between 9 and 5 and the dial is marked doxa 8 days. This is a HUGE antique GOLIATH DOXA RAILROAD open face pocket watch for restoration. Circa late 1800s to early 1900s. The large case measures 68.1mm in diameter. The white enamel MONTGOMERY style dial is in decent shape with hairlines and edge chips. The SILVER or NICKEL plated? Open case is in good shape with normal wear. The inner case is stamped. The movement is unmarked. Stem wind & nail or button set. It will run when you shake it but it appears to have a broken balance staff. Just to show how big this pocket watch is, I put it right next to an 18 size pocket watch (18s not included see photo below). This watch makes that 18 size look like a 6 size. Stunning antique/vintage Goliath pocket watch in brass car case, mounted on a wooden support. Stunning chrome cased Goliath pocket watch set out in Arabic numerals with subsidiary second dial. Extremely rare Huge Swiss Goliath Regulateur pocket Watch. With a gorgeous Niello case. The glazed movement is recently cleaned and serviced, running. Motion in all positions, good time keeper. 1890 METAL CASED GOLIATH TRIPLE CALENDAR MOONPHASE 15J SWISS LEVER POCKET WATCH. Antique Circa 1890 metal cased Goliath Triple Calendar Moonphase pocket watch in full working order. The dial is white /cream enamel with black Roman numerals and gold coloured fancy hands with 4 sub-dials. The movement is clean with a 15 jewelled Swiss lever escapement and is in good working order with a good strong tick keeping good time. It winds and sets smoothly and is button wind and pin pillar set. Please note all of the quick change pins for the day date etc are working well. The back cover is marked to the inside Acier Garanti and the number 11213. The case is clean and bright and has worn as to its age with all the covers closing nice and tight. This is a goliath pocket watch complete with silver and shell case. The silver frame is hallmarked for Birmingham 1924 with a makers mark of HM. The 8 day watch is only marked Swiss Made, both to the dial and inside the case, as well as Argentan inside. The watch itself has hairlines to the right hand side of the dial, around the 2 and 3, as well as some fluorescent paint loss in the same area. The watch runs for the full 8 days but generally loses around 20 minutes a day, so I would say it is in need of a service. The case is fine to the front, and there is some minor loss to the cover at the rear as can be seen. The easel is good and strong and does not appear to have been repaired.
