This is a massive pocket Watch which measures 76mm wide x 108mm long x 22mm deep. This a Swiss watch which was made for and retailed by the prestigious Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company in Regent Street, London. The watch comes with its original leather case, which stands upright and would stand on a desk. Movement the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and has an 8 day mainspring. The movement is in 95% mint condition. Case the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has a mirror finish inside and around the inside the bezel. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition a slightly matt dull finish which is normal for watches like these which have sat in a case for a while. They can be professionally polished up beautifully. Dial the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and signed Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd, 112 Regent Street, London W, 8 Days. The dial is in 100% mint condition. The watch has its original glass. The watch is stem wound /pin set. The watch comes in its original leather case lined with blue velvet and silk. I HAVE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION A 14K VINTAGE ILLINOIS POCKET WATCH ELGIN GIANT WATCH CASE CO 14K WORKING BEAUTY! It is 14K white gold! The detailed ornate designs on the back and all around are gorgeous! I winded it and it’s keeping time great! It is in wonderful vintage used condition! It weighs 60 grams. It measures 1 14/16 in diameter. And counting the bail winding piece it measures 2 1/4 long. There are no chips, cracks, or breaks in the glass or the face part! Cosmetically I don’t see any problems anywhere! It could probably be professionally cleaned (but it’s not that dirty either). On the face it says ILLINOIS. On the back inside cover it is marked: Elgin giant WATCH CASE CO.
