Like many of this era, it states that it has won awards in 1905 and 1906. There is a serial number on the case is 113525. This is a full hunter’s case comprised of filled gold. Overall, the case is in nice condition though there is some minor pitting on the exterior sides. The manual wind mechanism functions flawlessly as does the Quarter Hour repeater. It keeps accurate time. The repeater chimes in a single tone, once for each hour. It chimes in two tones for each quarter hour, so at 6:31, it will chime six times, and then issue a two tone chime twice, once for each of the past two quarter hours. Case size is 46mm and weight is 75 grams. It’s a solid watch and perfect for any function. The face is likely enamel. There is no chain included. It will be insured for the sale price. Elgin National Watch Co. 6s, grade 216, model 2 pocket watch in very good condition. Serial number 10341430 dates this pocket watch to 1904. Watch case shows little signs of wear some light scratches. It has a beautiful engraved design on front and back covers. The edges of the front and rear covers have beautiful detail design. A name is inscribed on the inside rear cuvette. Crystal and dial are in very good condition there is a hairline crack that radiates from the lX across lower part of the dial to V. This pocket watch winds, sets and runs with no issues it keeps accurate time. The balance wheel has a brisk motion. It may require cleaning, oiling and adjusting to maintain it as an accurate time piece. The 15 jewel movement has beautiful etched designs on the nickel finished plates. Antique 1899 Elgin Size 6 Pocket Watch in Keystone J Boss Grade 14K Gold Filled 20 Year Full Hunter Case. We are pleased to offer for sale this super nice antique Elgin National Watch Co. Size 6 pocket watch, serial number 9098435 made in 1899. The 20 year 14K gold-filled hunter case was made by J. Boss of the Keystone Watch Case Co. Boss developed a rolling process of applying two thin sheets of gold to a thin sheet of metal which enabled the production of stronger and less expensive watch cases and totally revolutionized the watch case industry of the day. This process resulted in what we now call gold-filled. This watch is in excellent condition and runs great. The dial is in mint condition as is the crystal glass. The gold-filled case is also in excellent condition and features flowers, leaves, scrollwork and what appears to be a lighthouse with mountains in the background. Are engraved on the case. Also included is a 21″ long 10K gold-filled chain marked “Speidel. I don’t know if it is original to the watch, but the Speidel company was in existence at that time.
