1906 Elgin Model 2 14K Yellow Gold Pocket Watch. Up for sale is a 1906 Elgin Model 2 14K Yellow Gold Pocket Watch. This stunning pocket watch features a beautiful. Floral design full hunter case, measuring at approximately 32.5mm in diameter x 10mm thick (completely closed). The watch’s dial is white with blue and silver tone hands and has Roman Numeral hour markers. The watch is powered by an accurate 7 jewel movement. It is currently ticking, but due to its age we cannot guarantee the life of the movement. The watch shows light scratches from previous wear and contact throughout the years and the inner movement cover is dented along the edge. The small dents do not affect functionality at all. The crystal shows a few minor surface scratches that are only noticeable when the light reflects at an angle. The case is a Dennison STAR 10 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. Good condition case, very clean and bright throughout, all hinges are good, all covers open and close well. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Front and rear covers open to 90 degrees. Fantastic condition case, No major scratches, some slight mottle colouring inside the case covers (does not look bad). The double sunk dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks or chips, signed “Waltham”. Roman Numerals, blued steel hands. The movement is a Waltham 17 Jewel model 1899 P. Bartlett dating to 1903, damascened, gold adjuster star, running well and keeps good time. Good acrylic crystal in great condition. Complete with antique rolled gold graduated Albert chain. Presented in a fitted velvet pocket watch box and velvet pouch for chain. Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy “unbreakable” mainspring. Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary.
