Here are the details. 25,344,504, circa 1926, 16 size, open face, 23 jewels, adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, Model 1908, Grade Vanguard, large raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, huge all-gold balance screws, Lossier hairspring, ¾ nickel plate, stem wind, lever set railroad-grade movement. This fine antique watch is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on my 8th wind with no coaxing, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds excellent time but has not been further regulated or adjusted! Appearance-wise this movement is looking great, with 100% tarnish-free and clean winding wheels, equally bright and clean faux bridge nickel plates with all of the attractive gold engraving paint intact, correct and spotless screw micrometer regulator whip and index, super pristine looking inside, and running strong and steady!! Dial : Factory original (not reproduction) Waltham non-sunk painted black-on-tan metallic Blindman sized black Arabic numerals with black minute markers and correct seconds chapter and wind indicator chapter. This dial is in near mint condition, with none of the staining or fading so common for metallic dials, no scratches or other unsightly detractions from a clean and clear view of the time and wind! Hands : Correct ultra bold matching blue “whip” style for Waltham railroad grade watches with the distinctive “club” second hand, almost all of the original finish (not doctored-up aftermarket stuff) intact, and correct for this model! Boss made for Waltham signed original 16 size, 14K engraved white gold fill, slots left and right, screw-back-and-bezel railroad case! This gorgeous Art Deco style case features a handsome ovaline blank cartouche at the center in back for a monogram, then fancy floral patterns top and bottom, Deco style pinstriping on the sides and nicely beaded edge work with the railroad-style neck, crown and engraved bow!! This case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. The correct matching original crown’s fluting is still deep and crisp for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely but does not extract, having the slot-left feature for the Waltham railroad-grade movement. The crystal is a high-domed plastic model with no visible issues. The case does show exceedingly minimal wear, including light, even carrying wear, no marrings or doodlings, zero brass detectable, and absolutely, positively no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions! I’ve owned this fine timepiece for 20-odd years and it has always run accurately and never failed to please and delight!!
