The English, plain, 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the maker’s mark “JR” for Rotherham & Sons (John Rotherham), the “crown and “18″ for 18 carat gold, the anchor Birmingham town mark and date letter “c for 1902/03. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The English Lever movement is signed by the maker “Rotherhams, London” and serial number 244430. The watch is stem wound and pin set. The white enamel dial is in good overall condition, however does have some faint hairlines. It has the hours in roman numerals and is signed by the maker. The watch measures 51mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 112.1g. The inner cuvette (dust cover) bears an interesting presentation inscription, the watch presented to a Civil Engineer.
