Beautiful 18ct Yellow Gold Patek Philippe. Comes with presentation case though I can’t guarantee this is original as there are no markings it is definitely of the period, ivory/pearl inlay etc. Comes with an extract from the archives (directly from PP). Movement in excellent condition and running. Case is beautiful with the original engraved dove and patterns in mint condition. It has obviously had very little polishing done which is both rare and desirable as there is little to no fading. Dial and glass in excellent condition with only very minor marks/scratches that come with age. Only minor blemish is the case ring which isn’t perfectly parallel to the case though this hasn’t arisen from direct damage i. Knocks so not sure why its like this, very minor though and as seen from the pictures hardly noticeable. Dimensions are 40mm x 57mm (top to bottom) x 13mm (thickness). Here on offer is a beautiful. Vintage 18ct gold cased & enamel Art Deco Pocket Watch by J. Benson, Ludgate Hill, London, circa 1931. This original stem-winder example has an unusual white dial with ornate gold hands and gold Art Deco period numbers. It also has a sub seconds dial set at the 6 oclock position. It looks to still have its original domed mineral glass fitted, which is in excellent condition. The solid 18ct Gold rear cover has a wonderful dark blue enamel outer ring that is inset with multi coloured enamel leaves and beads intertwined with gold scroll work. Some of the enamel has lifted at the 3 and 9 oclock positions and four of the tiny raised amber beads appear to be missing? The rear cover can be hinged open carefully with a blade and inside is stamped with the makers marks and serial numbers. Some of the marks are rubbed and are hard to make out. However I can make out the official Swiss 18K. 75 gold standard mark and there are two sets of numbers. Probably the case and movement serial numbers and some letters. I can also just make out the London import symbol and a date letter that looks like a. Which dates it to 1931. I can just make out a makers mark that looks like a C. There are also a clearer set of marks on the back of the suspension loop, which are the London import mark, 18ct purity and a makers mark that is a C C. You can see from the slim shape and even down to the loop at the top of the watch that this is an Art Deco period piece. The 15-jewel metal (not gold) watch movement is just superb, as you can see from my pictures; it is in excellent working condition. The condition is excellent with just the slightest of light scratches and marks to the back cover and the slight damage to the enamel as described above. There is also some discolouration/shading to the watch face at the 2 oclock position, which may clean off? The watch measures 1.6 (4.1cm) diameter and weighs 44g. Benson Ltd was a highly regarded London watch/clockmakers and gold/silversmiths who traded between 1847 and 1973. The Benson family had been watchmakers since 1749. A company, trading as S. Benson, was founded in 1847 by James William Benson (born in 1826 in Reading) and his older brother Samuel Suckley Benson (born in 1822 in London). The partnership was dissolved on 27. January 1855 and James William continued the business under the name, J. James William Benson died on 7. October 1878, aged 52, and his sons James, Alfred and Arthur took over the running of the business. Throughout its history, J. Benson Ltd was official watchmaker to the Admiralty & the War Department and also held a number of royal warrants, being watchmakers to Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales, the Tsar of Russia and several other royal families. In 1892 it became a limited company and moved to their new’steam’ factory at 38 Belle Sauvage Yard. Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description. T Solid Gold American Waltham Pocket Watch with a high grade 19 Jewel Riverside movement. This is an excellent example, in very good condition and very good working order. The 18 carat solid gold case is in excellent condition. The English made case hallmarked with the maker’s mark “ALD” for Aaron Lufkin Dennison, “18″ and “crown” for 18. Carat gold, the Birmingham town mark and date letter “c” for 1902/03. The case has very crisp, engine turned engraving, showing virtually know signs of wear, with a central cartouche that is free of initials. An extremely fine example. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o’clock. It is signed by the maker “Waltham”. The very good quality, high grade, 19 Jewels, Waltham Riverside movement is in excellent working order. It is signed by the maker AWWCo. Waltham, Mass” and also “Riverside” alongside “19 Jewels, Adjusted. It has a lovely damaskeened finish. All signs of a very good watch. Heavy 18ct Gold English Freesprung Hunting Cased Pocket Watch. Very heavy 18ct gold English free-sprung 3/4 plate fusee hunting cased pocket watch. Signed white enamel dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, and blue steel hands. The movement; 3/4 plate numbered with large diamond end stone. It’s unusually highly jeweled for an English watch. The movement is signed Le Cheminant Wimpole St London. This watchmaker is well known for having made very high quality timepieces including chronometers and deck watches for the Royal Navy. Please see this link for some information on the maker. The movement is a keywind free-sprung fusee. The watch is of a particularly heavy gauge and made by one of England’s finest casemakers of that period Fred Thoms F. T (Frederick Thoms, Clerkenwell). The fire gilt movement look just like the day it left the work shop. The watch runs well. Time keeping aprox C + or+ – 1-2 minuets per hour. This is a half hunter pocket watch it is working but is running about 5 minutes fast per day. The diameter of the whole pocket watch is approx’y 3.7cm and the total weight is approx’y 49.43gm. There are three marks on one side of the loop above the winder and two on the reverse, these are hard to read there is also a mark on the “stem” below the winder. The inside of the front cover has 2708984 SWISS it also has part of the 18ct mark and a symbol and 18. 75 and there are also two initials. The inside of the back and works cover have the same or similar markings. The works have on them SWISS MADE and 15 JEWELS All covers close securely. There is scratching on the glass and there may be a couple of hairlines in the enamel it is hard to tell as a lot of the glass scratches look like they are on the enamel and they are not. There is some dinting to the case and the enamel is missing on some of the numbers on front cover. This fits well in the box but the outside of the box in particular is quite tatty. I would say as it is running fast and may have been sitting for a while that this would need a service.
