ELGIN watch #9346090, GRUEN 14K Case 75033. This is a beautiful 14k gold 15 jewel pocket watch. I don’t know “size” but Ive put a ruler in the photo so you can see its size. The case is very ornate floral design with what looks like a griffen on one side and a dragon on the other. This piece weighs <1 lbs with packing materials. I will not disclose reserves. It winds, it ticks, keeps time and the seconds hand is also in working condition. I have not had it serviced or cleaned -as found. Tiffany & Co Pocket Watch. Movement by Patek Philippe. This pocket watch is in excellent condition. The movement is fully functional and the hinged covers open/close and snap properly into place. The enamel dial appears to be in excellent condition although there is some lint and debris that we have not attempted to clean. Please note that although the dial appears to have no imperfections we can’t be certain unless the debris is removed from under the crystal and frankly we’d rather not get into opening the watch and attempting to clean it lest we damage it. The watch features a third, hinged cover which allows for the exhibition of the movement through an acrylic crystal. The front cover is monogrammed with the initials “LK”. The watch measures approx 41mm in diameter and has a size 15 ligne movement with lever escapement and a seconds subdial. The serial number is engraved on both the case and movement and is doubly signed by Tiffany & Co. A Patek Philippe “Extract from the Archives” accompanies this watch. This watch has come to us directly from the estate of it’s original owner and is the first time it’s being offered for sale to dealers, collectors, and the general public. We do not know the service history. We have found it to keep time well enough (variance of a couple of minutes a day) to sell as-is and it runs for about a day on a full wind although no warranties are implied. Servicing of the movement is recommended for optimal performance. Our potential buyers are more knowledgeable than us when it comes to pocket watches. 1895 Antique Elgin 14K Solid Yellow Gold Double Hunter Case Pocket Watch. 47.42 grams total weight with movement. 20.82 grams gold case, bezel, crystal only. Please note the crystal broke when we were removing the movement to weigh the case. The watch will need a crystal, but these are inexpensive to replace and any pocket watch repair can install one for you. Case is stamped C. MFG CO 3 Stars US ASSAY. The Shugart Pocket Watch Manual Shows this stamp is a Solid Gold Case, picture included. Third Row on the right hand side. The case is also stamped by the movement 585, the numeric notation for 14K gold. Case was professionally tested to confirm gold content and is guaranteed Solid 14K Gold. Movement Serial # 6223946. 15 Jewel Movement Running well and keeps accurate time. The case is ornate with detailing on front, back and sides. The front shows a house with background scenery, see pictures. There are 3 initials lightly monogrammed in script on one side of the case. These could likely be buffed out if desired, but we aren’t sure. The case is in excellent, well-cared for condition. The White Porcelain Face is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks noted. This watch is an amazing addition to your collection, in excellent condition and Running Strong! It doesn’t look or act 121 years old, but it is.
