Up for sale is a rare and unusual antique Swiss key wind pocket chronometer. It is all original apart from the case, and was made in the 1800s by H. Mathey Peylieu of Locle, Switzerland. It measures 51mm in diameter and has an amazing 19 jewel movement with rare pivoted detent escapement. It was recently serviced to run and keep very good time. Serviced: This watch was fully serviced on November 10th, 2017. It was fully disassembled, all parts cleaned and oiled, and a new unbreakable main spring was installed. It was then adjusted to keep very good time. Movement : This watch runs great and keeps very good time. The beautiful original key wind movement is in excellent condition, and has 19 jewels and a rare pivoted detent escapement. It has lovely rubies, gold jewel caps and gold balance weights! A key will be included. Dial : The original dial is in excellent condition with just some small hairlines. Case : The fine silver case is not the original but was made specially for this watch and is in very good condition. The covers work as they should. 21 jewels Railroad Chronometer 16 size stem wind & lever set pocket watch in fine original looking and running condition. The movement was professionally serviced recently, runs strong and keeps accurate time. Serial number on the Series 11 high grade movement is 1260089 which dates it to circa 1915; has 21 ruby jewels, adjusted to temperature & 5 positions, has a double roller, safety pinion and a micrometric regulator. The set lever is near the 1:00 position; pull the lever up to set the time with the crown. The original porcelain enameled dial with bold numbers appears flawless. The deep blued steel hands are in fine condition. The original Howard yellow gold filled swing-out case is in extra fine condition with very light pocket wear and is original to the movement, has no brassing, monograms or engravings. (To view the movement, the crown must be pulled in the up position before swinging out the movement). The watch measures approximately 2-1/16 inches in diameter (not including the crown & bow) x 5/8 inch thick including the new old stock G-S acrylic crystal. The original bow and crown are in fine condition with light wear from use. Included with your watch is a heavy antique gold plated brass chain with a gold plated pocket clasp, measures approximately 13-1/4 inches long overall. This is a fine example of an original Howard Railroad Chronometer, a great timepiece for your collection & use, also makes a real nice gift! ANOTHER SUPERB AND EXTREMELY RARE ROLEX MILITARY WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE! A BEAUTIFUL 1940′S ROLEX MILITARY ISSUE RARER WHITE DIAL POCKET WATCH IN NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION. THIS TYPE OF ROLEX WATCH WAS USED BY THE BRITISH MILITARY AS A BACK UP TO A CHRONOMETER. COMPLETE WITH WHAT SEEMS TO BE ITS ORIGINAL BRASS HOLDER/CASE PROTECTOR. A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR, OR THE ROLEX ENTHUSIAST. This is a lovely original chromed two piece screw back and bezel watch case. The back of the case is numbered B 6184 and has full military broad arrow markings for a British Military timepiece. The case is in good original field worn condition showing some light wear to parts of the case, a couple of light shallow dings and one pin head ding that I can see (see pics). The inside of the case back is fully marked for the Rolex watch company. The outside of the case back has some normal wear and tear from service usage. The watch measures 5.2cms (52mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY original ROLEX military watch case. This is an absolutely lovely, and most importantly totally original fully signed white dial. There is a light hairline at 2 o’clock to the dial centre. Apart from that I can see no other damage. The dial is FULLY signed “ROLEX” in black painted lettering and’Swiss Made’ on the bottom of the dial. It has painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a black minute track which is in good original condition. The beautiful steel’spade’ style contemporary minute, hour and minute hands are in excellent condition. This is a really lovely dial in excellent original condition. The crystal is brand new plexi and as such is in mint condition. This is a beautiful and absolutely genuine ROLEX FULLY SIGNED AND NUMBERED HI GRADE cal 548 15 jewel manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish and is FULLY signed on the top plate in a beautiful typesetting, showing its true ROLEX roots. The watch winds smoothly and sets with ease. It is in full running condition and has nice quiet operation and has just been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. The watch is keeping good time as tested over a 12 hour period. The stainless original crown looks genuine to the watch, and is in excellent condition showing slight normal wear. The standard pattern for this military watch was not to have a chain ring and it is rare to find one that has not been altered by someone drilling a hole through the bow to add a chain ring. This watch has no drilled hole which is is as it should be. This lovely ROLEX watch is complete with what looks like its holder or protective brass case. The case has lots of dents with what looks like service use and has a letter’C’ stamped on the lid. THIS IS A FABULOUS AND RARE MILITARY ISSUE ROLEX TIMEPIECE.
