The base metal is Nickel Alloy. It is unserialized and unsigned. Pacifica Model 1 – UU has announced 2 releases, each with 250 pieces (125 in Gold Plated and 125 in Silver Plated). The 3rd release will be in late May or Early June, 2018. At that time, we will also have 1st release of 18S, Atlantica Model 1 – UU (Unsigned, Unserialized). Total quantity of Atlantica Model 1 will also be 800 pieces (400 Gold Plated and 400 Silver Plated). There will be a total of (1,000) Pacifica Model 1-UU and (800) Atlantica Model 1-UU be produced. We will not produce anymore of Pacifica Model 1-UU and Atlantica Model 1-UU after that. USA will only have 15 distributors worldwide. The Hamilton Watch Company increased its production of precision watches following the entry of the United States into the Second World War in 1941. Its 16-size 992b railroad quality pocket watch formed the basis for their Watch, Master Navigational, most of which, 73,285, found their way into Air Force use, while 21,152 were assigned to the US Navy, with 312 going to the Royal Canadian Navy. The movement was designated 4992b. Between 1941 and 1969, when production ceased, about 140,000 had been made. While it retained the fine quality of the 992b, it differed from it in having a sweep second hand , a 24 hour dial reading GCT (Greenwich Civil Time which later will become Greenwich Mean Time) and a hacking function, allowing the movement to be stopped easily by pulling out the crown so that the time shown could be set precisely to GMT. It was also up-jewelled to 22 jewels. Pictures 1 and 2 show the layout of the face. The case was generally of chromed nickel silver, though some early ones, made for the Navy, were of silver. Both the back and the bezel screw on. This watch runs well, keeps good time and is in excellent condition, as is the used army metal carry case. There are several Government markings on the case back. Another interesting aspect to the 4992B is it “hacks” or stops when you pull out the crown to set the time. This allows you to set a very precise time… The old, “synchronize your watches” phrase comes to mind. Nice Hamilton AN-5740 4992b with US Army Air Corp carry case. The GCT stands for Greenwich Civil Time. It was changed to GMT or Greenwich Mean Time in 1952. The AN designation is for Army-Navy. Manufacture date is 1950 for the Korean war period. Has spring mount inside to protect the watch while in the field or flying. The clear window allows the watch to be viewed while in it’s protective enclosure. The watch is running and keeping excellent time. The case has some wear to the back where the military engraving is. This is serial number C7019. It has a Gold center wheel. This is a seldom seen U. Army marked Hamilton 992 B. These are usually only found in the Hamilton serial numbers under C10000. After that they are marked U. The watch has been running for over a month and keeps good time. The Plates are clean and I don’t see any scratches or screwdriver marks. The original Hamilton dial #024 is a Single Sunk enamel Montgomery. I looked it over with a loupe and did find a small hairline at the 1 minute marker on the edge. The case is the correct Keystone Base Metal Military model. The serial numbers on the center ring and back cover don’t match. Very few of these Military watches have matching case numbers because of the way they were cleaned in groups and no thought was given to matching up the case serial numbers in the Military. I don’t end auctions early. I don’t part out watches for higher profits and discourage this practice. The item “U. S.
