Antique and very rare 18K-gold pocket watch chain. Striking and very rare 18K-gold pocket watch chain in its original case. The chain was manufactured in the 19th century and remains in excellent condition. These pieces are quite rare, furthermore when they come in their original antique cases. The one that we can see in the images bears no hallmarks so it has been impossible to tell its origin. Nevertheless, it has already been acid-tested and we can guarantee that it is entirely made of 18K gold. This item shows a really beautiful design with an elegant, simple and contemporary look. It is composed of circular and oval links woven with a thick gold cord. The chain is almost 15.75 in / 40 cm in length, so it is a really long piece. At one end it has a cameo-case composed of two pieces connected in a book-like way. Both have oval frames and glass panes to put photographs inside. The chains storing case is rectangular in shape with a dark-red leather covering outside and maroon inner velvet lining. Beautiful enamel porcelain face, movement delicately machined, set in an skeleton pocket watch case. As for the case there is crown/winder, time set with a lever is on the side. At the top 12 o’clock position, there is a faux or dummy crown/ bale. The dummy crown/bale looks gold filled. The case body looks like gold, tested glass back metal edge, failed 18k, passed 14k and 10k test, gold plated? Case is not marked. Beautiful watch and case, keeps good time. Marked on front, A. LANGE & SOHNE, GLASHUTTE B/DRESDEN, Movement engraved the same, Movement serial number 34033. Case has a different number. Measuring approximately: Movement 1 1/2 inches diameter, 1 3/4 inch with case not including crown and bail. Condition: very good, works beautifully, could use a cleaning.
