For your consideration is an antique 1892 Waltham 14kt gold hunter case pocket watch with a diamond and enamel work. This is a beautiful ladies pocket watch. The serial number is 6275331. Inside the lid is the stamp C. On the front lid is nice floral enamel work with the engraved initials. The back has geometric enamel design with a diamond in the center. The entire case is heavily work. I just had this watch serviced and it works great! It weighs 39.7 grams with the movement. It measures approximately 1 7/16 x 1 7/8 (does not include ring). The only issue I could see was some minor enamel loss on the cover. It does not take anything away from this beautiful watch. My home has always been a non-smoking home. All items have a. This is a very high end and unique LeCoultre Split Second pocket watch. The 14 Karat Gold case has no initials engraved on it. It has a 14KT dust cover as well as a plastic dust cover. The total weight of this watch is 144 grams. This is a Mason’s watch that achieved a very high level of Shriner. I’m sure it has not been serviced in decades – but keeps good time and split second functions and resets properly. It is a heavy case. Speaking of the case it measures 53 mm in diameter not including the crown. The thickness of the watch is 19mm. It is an impressive piece. Railroad watches in original gold cases are scarce. Railroad watches in gold cases bearing the name of the watch making company are items that come once in the lifetime of a watch collector. This watch is one of those rare events. It has a Hamilton 950, 23 jewels movement. It’s 16 size and lever set. The dial is the highest grade enamel dial Hamilton produced. It has Roman numerals something never or very rarely seen on RR watches.. The dust cover is inscribed: Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, PA, Margaret to Cottie, May 5, 1923, 14kt. The 14kt shows on the inside of the back cover & also on the inside of the dust cover. The movement is beautifully damaskeened. The 950 Hamilton movement arguably is one of the nicest watch movements ever made. I think this is one of the early 950s, the ones with gold train. I had my watchmaker take the watch apart to show the back of the dial. 1 The dial looks like it should have been a 4 footed 16 size Hamilton enamel dial but it was at the last moment converted to a 3 footed one. Please look at the lines of flow of the enamel. 2 The front plate of the 950 movement has 3 receptor holes just to fit that specially modified dial. I have not seen this before and I have owned many 950, 950B & even one 951 over the years. The watch is in great condition. It runs well, keeps good time but has not been recently serviced. It was a showpiece, a collection’s watch. If you plan to wear it daily as a timekeeper, a servicing would protect your investment.
