For sale is a triple cases tombac material (gold, mercury and brass) covered tortoise shell edward prior verge fusee pocket watch. The watch has been manufactured by Edward Prior watchmaster who is the brother of George Prior. The dial is an ottoman style and in perfect condition. There is no hans on the dial but can be fixed as the main shaft is exsiting and not broken. The 3rd case had been covered with a tortoise shell and it is in perfect condition. There are some of dents on it but this is also a proof of its originality. The shell is not fake or polyester. All the parts are existing in mechanism and needs servicing. Here is a nice working English Verge Fusee Repousse Sterling Silver Pair Case with a Hand Painted Fancy Dial. This is a Gentleman’s Pocket Watch and it comes with two keys! The Maker appears to be S. The Serial number is 8000 which is also marked on the inner case! Judging by the various Hallmarks this would be Circa: 1750- 80′s. DIAL: This fancy porcelain dial displays Roman numerals and has mismatched Gold filigree hands. MOVT: This key-set movement with verge escapement is gilt with a full plate layout and is signed. The case is in very good condition-worn and the Silver button opens and locks the outer case nicely! 16-size 50mm pair case features an open face and repousse decorations and.
