STUNNING HEAVY CASED 18K SOLID GOLD VACHERON & CONSTANTIN VINTAGE MENS WATCH. This Vacheron piece is a great find as it has an extra heavy and thick stepped 18k solid gold case that is not often seen. The case also has very nice bevelled lugs, such a classic and heavy vintage piece. This watch is also triple signed Vacheron & Constantin on the Dial, Case and Movement so it is all original which is fantastic. The case sides are stepped down which is a great feature of an era past. This amazing watch is from one of the best quality watch manufacturers in the world and is a Must Have for your collection. The heavy 18k watch case is 38.5mm long and 8mm thick. The watch has its original thick glass, the glass does a few small scratches but is original. The thick glass in some photos does make the dial distorted due to the inner curved glass, please note the dial is perfectly flat. The styling of this mens dress watch is all class. Produced in the 1930s, this watch was the epitome of style and as you can see the elegant design is as timeless now as it was then. It shows no major scratches and a slight dent in the back which is barely visible. This watch is an authentic and all original Vacheron & Constantin as it is triple signed movement, case and dial. The case is also correctly Swiss hallmarked with. 750 and the ladies head on the inside of the case and a touchmark on the side of the watch case. The watch has been fitted with a brand new black leather band. As you can see the watch has had very little use and is in beautiful condition. The watchs movement is a beautifully presented Vacheron v435 nickel movement with lever escapement. The rhodium plated movement looks stunning with damaskeened plates, 17 jewels and gold balance and winding wheels. As mentioned, the movement has been labelled with the Vacheron & Constantin (Geneve) name. The serial number for this watch is 441367 from the movement. The gold metal dial is correctly marked Vacheron & Constantin Geneve and is in good condition. The dial does show some marks but certainly does not take away from the amazing look of this watch. The gold hands and numerals add to the special look of the dial. This case has been hallmarked for Vacheron & Constantin as well as the 18K Solid Gold stamp and. Add the superior quality and craftsmanship of V&C and this watch becomes a very valuable and collectible watch. The watch is stem set and stem wind. The service history of this watch is unknown to me unless I state otherwise. Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. Big Beautiful Stunning looking English made by the famous Robert Roskell Liverpool serial no. 8017 much rarer 30 tooth Rack lever fusee. The Rack lever was superior in quality and time keeping over the more common verge. The movement comes in a beautiful Solid Sterling Silver matching pair case hall marked (q) 1831 from London assay. The early Robert Roskell movement is dated back to 1818 and was placed in a later date case which fits perfect with the original key hole closed up nicely. The absolutely flawless white porcelain dial is signed “Samuel Lewis, Liverpool” who was a jeweler from 1814-48 and used his dial on the famous R. The Gold colored hands and sub seconds hand are beautiful. When I removed the dial I found and old inscription W. Doyle May 8th 1818 on the movement which correlates with the early serial number. Super spotless bulls eye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfectly. He made fine Rack lever fusees and used Litherland’s rack lever escapement. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. The polished flat steel balance has super motion with a nice loud tick. Typical of Roskell with The three footed balance bridge with diamond end stone and the word ” patent” for his rack levers. All the screws, push arrow index for regulating and even the spring and lever for the fusee cone power maintain are all sharply blued. The stop/start switch is amazing and actually stops when switched then starts right back up again when switched back. The Rare 30 tooth escape wheel has the unique 15 second rotation not the 60 as on the dial. Inside the inner case also has a old watch makers paper from Pokeepsie N. The watch measures approx. 57mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked about 1/2 a minute fast within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position………….. But I cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. This is a rack lever fusee meant to keep time, not perfect time 194 years ago. Pocket watch comes with a sharp key for winding. Note all of my pocket watches have been serviced and restored to there best working order according to there age and condition. I personally carried this watch around and found it to be an outstanding working “Roskell” Rack lever that keeps Great time, making it a much rarer time piece to own. See my current auctions for some unusual watches. Marsh circa 1783 pair case Crown wheel verge fusee. Great painted dial, completely original, from estate, No Reserve. You have to love this beautiful watch, circa 1783 completely original movement, case, dial, hands and crystal. The watch measures 51 mm in diameter and the case has the London date letter “h” for the years 1783 and case makers mark “I D” for John Dimsdale, Goswell Street. The pair case is in excellent condition with originals owners initials on back. It is untouched and has old watch paper for a Horsham watchmaker inside the back cover. The dial is spectacular, painted scene of shepherd courting on the right with musician holding bagpipes on the left of the dial. The dial has the original beetle/poker hands and nice bulls eye crystal. The movement, a nice crown wheel verge escapement signed Marsh 695. The watch movement is intact, I don’t see any pivot/wheel damage in the train. The balance wheel moves freely and watch tries to run although dirty. The chain is intact and you can wind the fusee wheel. The set up for tension on the fusee chain is an early type with the worm wheel under the mainspring barrel. This should be a nice spectacular piece once restored/serviced by a qualified watchmaker. It’s a great example of a complete original investment quality 18th century English watch. A spectacular Hamilton railroad watch, early 992 model. 16 size, open face, lever set with a beautiful and rarely seen enamel Montgomery dial. This 992 is unique for a few reasons: 1 The front plate has 4 insertion holes and needs a 4 footed Hamilton dial.
