Vintage Elgin pocket watch, very nice, Has second hand, nice white face, case very nice on front but look closely at photos of back and it looks like three rubs on left side but there is only two rubs, third or bottom is just glare. The rubs are brassing and are about 3/16″ x 1/8″ and 1/8″ x 1/16″. If I look with my optivisor, I can see different light etching around the inside of the back cover. There is also the word “Wadsworth” inside the back cover over the number 1544106 with the insignia in between. There is no brassing on the front of the watch, just on the back. The pocket watch is about 1 3/4 across. I was able to open the case for a photo of the movement. The inside of back cover is #1544106, guaranteed permanently and the movement says, 19249410, 17 jewels, also Elgin Nat;l Watch Co. Pocket watch runs well. No smoke, no pets. Silver pair cased verge pocket watch – London, c1730. Silver pair cases, 57.5 mm. MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with nicely engraved and pierced winged balance cock and plate. Large silver regulator disk and four Egyptian pillars. All in good original condition and running well. DIAL : Silver champleve dial in very good condition. Later hands, the hour repaired at the base. INNER CASE : Silver, makers mark B, but no hallmarks. In good condition, though the stem and bow are later so have been reattached. The hinge is a little worn so the bezel doesnt snap shut tightly. The high dome bulls eye crystal is scratched and worn, but no chips. OUTER CASE : Silver pair case, again with no hallmarks. Nice large square hinge. The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. There are a few light bruises to the back, and an old repair at the neck (only visible from the inside), but generally in quite good condition.
