An 18 size Columbus wit the lessor seen marking R. This is the hunter version and is numbered 203975.. The Tu-tone movement has been disassembled, cleaned and oiled.. Tu-tone is very good with some light wash out.. 15 dark ruby jewels in screw down settings.. Long arm regulator and spring loaded adjustment.. Factory plate screws and movement is marked adjusted.. It runs very well, with good motion and the compensated balance wheel is true in the flat.. The appropriate marked enamel dial is double sunk.. Some hairlines but nothing to serious and no chips.. Might wash out some of these hairlines with a long soak.. Fancy Fleur di Lies hand set that appears original.. Hands are proper length and in good condition.. The gold filled hunter case was made by Dueber.. Inner rear cover has the original numbered case paper… Case is very good with some normal pocket wear from use Hinges are good and covers snap shut as they should.. Front cover lift is to 90 degrees.. Firm bow and the holes are not worn.. Crown is very good… Front bezel is fitted with a scratch free glass crystal.. Nicely running English pocket watch the is house in a Sterling silver pair case.. The watch measures 53mm across the outside and it weights 145.4 grams complete.. The gilded plates has much of its original sparkle.. Movement is signed by j Souter of Lumsden England.. And numbered 97587 on the balance cock.. The movement has 9 jewels with the 3rd wheel being jeweled as well as the entire escapement. Movement has been cleaned and runs the length of the fuse chain… The Gold solid balance has good motion and is true in the flat it keeps good time.. Nice deep blue screw set and it also has its original brass dust cover.. The single sunk enamel dial is signed by the maker along wit the town.. Pretty good shape with a small hairline at the 26 minute mark.. Nice gilded hand set.. The pair cases at almost new… No dent or dings and minimal wear.. Hinges are firm and everything closes up as it should.. Release button is as new.. The front bezel is fitted with a bulls eye scratch free glass crystal… The watch is key wind and key set.. A couple of extras with the watch are 2 watch papers from a Watchmaker in Alford along with a silk piece and cutout paper.. 16,310 of this model produced. The dial is not the correct one. It was a painted dial and in pretty rough condition. There’s a wee bit of damage to the dial near the “60″ of the sub dial, but no hairlines that I can see. A real nice looking “man’s” watch. Chrome plated Illinois “Spartan” case. Works as it should. Glass Crystal is in nice shape. Not beat up at all. Loses about a minute per day. Not bad for a 103 year old watch. Its pendant set, which I prefer to a lever set with these old threaded cases.
