Mint Condition/No Monogram/Richly Engraved Over All Surfaces/Screwed Down Gold Jewel Settings/Gold Gears/Substantial 34.7 Grams 14K Solid Gold Investment. Produced for three years only, from 1901 to 1903. A stunning 113 year old stem wind & set Elgin 14K gold hunter with a signed grade 267 15 jewel safety pinion gilt movement in excellent operating condition! This beautiful antique timepiece has a case diameter of 34mm. The watch weighs a substantial 34.7 grams, about half of which is 14K gold. I mention the gold content for a base value only. I would never destroy a beautiful antique gold pocket watch for the gold content. It is my hope that this watch ends up in the hands of an ardent collector for many years of enjoyment and appreciation! This gorgeous antique Elgin remains in mint condition with no dings, dents, scratches or repairs. The 14K gold front cover pops open to exactly 90 degrees when the stem is depressed. All other 14K gold covers also open to exactly 90 degrees and all covers snap tightly shut. The wind is silky smooth and it keeps excellent time. Note the incredible hand chased decorations that completely cover this superb example! Each cover features intricate florals, scrolls and flourishes that continues onto the case edge. Please examine the many photos for a close look. There’s an elegant monogram cartouche at the bottom front cover that has never been monogrammed. The fine signed ” ELGIN ” porcelain dial is snow white and pristine. With original blue steel spade hands and black Roman numerals and a small seconds sweep marked out in 10 second intervals. All three covers and case are 14K solid yellow gold. The inside front cover is stamped with serial number ” 822554 “. The inside rear cover is stamped. The inside of the polished 14K gold cuvee bears the matching stamped serial number ” 822554 “. All serial numbers match, proving the watch to be all original. The pristine damaskeened movement is a signed Elgin grade 267 15 jewel safety pinion type in fine running condition.
