1888 ELGIN 14K GOLD POCKET WATCH Hunter Case Movmt 6S, Runs Good-Ornate Engraving. This Elgin Pocket Watch has a Solid 14K Yellow Gold Hunter/Hunting Case that measures a little over 1 1/2 inches across, NOT counting the crown and loop. It is also 1/2 inch thick. The Case has hand engravings almost covering it. There is NO wear in the 14K Yellow Gold Case. It is Impressive and you can see the case in my pictures. Looking at my Last Picture, you will see the inside of the back case cover. It has a hallmark Horse’s Head with “14K”. To the right is an oval with a large “U” with a “K” inside the “U” and a “K” is on the far right. Under the 14K stamping is the Case Serial Number 31585. This Number is also stamped on the inside lid facing the movement, front case lid facing the dial. This Number is also stamped into the middle part of the case that holds the lids. Information about the MOVEMENT: Model 1, 6 Size with a 3/4 Plate and 13 Jewels. I took out the balance to be sure. The Serial Number for the Movement is “2,799,858″. I checked and it was made in 1888. Looking at my second to last picture you will see the 1888 date hand engraved with a note. You can also see it on the inside case lid in my last picture. It is the lid laying flat to the right. This Movement is called Lever Set. To set the hands you have to find the lever. Look at my Second Picture. It shows the Dial and Hands. Look at the 5 – it has the Roman Numeral “V”. You will find the lever one notch above in the yellow bezel. Put a fingernail between the yellow bezel and pull the lever away until it stops. Turn the crown like you are winding up the Watch and the hands will move. When you have the correct time, push the lever in and the Pocket Watch will wind. Check out my other items. The movement number is C151838, which puts it at 1946 production, 16S, 21jewels model 5. The movement has been. Cleaned oiled and serviced. Everything was found to be original and is XF, good working order. The movement runs strong, sets great and keeps good time. The case is a N Mint, 10 karat yellow gold filled Hamilton, which is in very near mint condition, if it weren’t for one very small dimple on the back (see pics) it would be in mint! The bow is tight! And both covers screw on and off smooth and tight!! And the crystal is gemmy. The dial is a. (see pics) and the hands are a Canadian style (2 time zone)and are in. Mint jet black and red condition!
