ONE gorgeous and dead accurate, strong runnning Illinois “Bunn Special” Grade 161A Elinvar Type IIB 60-hour. Running strong and keeping great time. Here are the details. 5,511,829, circa 1932, 16 size, open face, 21 jewels, adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, Model 15, Grade 161A Type IIB 60-hour, raised gold jewel settings, full gold train, all gold balance screws, Elinvar bi-metallic hairspring, ¾ nickel plate, stem wind, lever set railroad grade movement. This highly prized Illinois (by Hamilton) fine antique watch is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on my 4th wind with no jiggling, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds great time!! Appearance-wise this movement is looking great, with bright, shiny clean winding wheels, super bright and clean nickel plates with all of the fine Model 15 damasceen black paint intact (adds genuine additional value), spotless correct regulator and needle, super clean looking inside, and rocking and rolling!! Dial : Illinois “Blindman” style, 16 size, open face, double sunk enamel, ultra bold black Arabic numerals with surrounding “arrows-out” black five-minute-markers, fancy dress or railroad dial! This dial is in primo shape. It is clean and fine all the way around! A super cherry dial! Hands : Correct for the 161A RR-bold blue matching spade hour and pointer minute hands in just about mint condition with original finish – not aftermarket paint job! Case : The Correct Illinois Bunn Special case. The case is a 14 Karat white gold fill, model #107 The case shows very little wear! The fancy engraved initials E. F match the watch fob! History: The watch was given by the Homestake gold mine of deadwood SD. This mine was the largest and oldest in the country and only closed in 2002.
