The watch is in very good running condition and it keeps very good time. This movement is a Rail Road grade 155. The movement has 17 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions, has a high grade regulator, gold balance weights, gold jewel settings, all gold train, Ruby jewels, and a lever set. This movement is all original. This movement is in great condition. Dial : The ornate Elgin dial is in good condition. The dial has some cracks near the 7 position. The total production of this 18 size 23 jewel hunting case Interstate Chronometer was only 200 made. This example is especially nice with a bold and bright 2-tone color to the movement. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk Interstate Chronometer signed dial and is housed in a gold-filled Keystone hunting case. Movement serial number is 2336865. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent 2-tone color and luster. Dial faces up very well with just a light hairline in the outer chapter at 3 minutes and has several light hairlines in the seconds-bit. Case has a solid overall look with average wear to the engravings, wear to brass on the bow, and loss of the outer surface of the crown at one area. NICE ANTIQUE PATEK PHILIPPE & CIE 20 JEWEL HUNTING CASE POCKET WATCH MOVEMENT ONLY! This movement is mechanically excellent. It will tick and has a good balance staff and train of wheels. You will want to supply a stem and crown. The diameter of the dial is 43.5mm. There are diamond markers glued (I believe) to the dial. Maybe they could be removed but I don’t know for sure. The dial is signed on the front and back. There is one short hairline. The second hand missing but the post for it is there. The movement is marked’adjusted’ and has cap jewels at the lever and escape wheel. Note the wolf’s tooth winding and the cam or snail regulator. There is a counterpoised moustache lever. All the steel parts are highly polished. I expect you will want to clean/oil this movement but it does tick with good motion already. There is dust/dirt as you can see. Presumed that the movement and case are NOT original to each other, this is how I received the watch from the estate. The movement NEEDS REPAIR to the winding and setting mechanism. From a watch collector’s. Estate; an antique Patek Philippe & Co. 1888, in a 14K yellow gold open face pocket watch. Elgin Giant Watch Case Co. On the inside of the rear cover. The dust cover is engraved. With, From The Boys, Dec 25th. The watch movement is signed PATECK PHILIPPE & CO. 80832, GENEVE, Henri Bohm, DENVER, COL. The case is in good. Condition with 2 hinged rear covers and a’snap’ front bezel. There are a few small dents and visible scratches to the rear cover and. 2 very slight vertical creases to the inside of the dust cover, directly under the 2 lines of engraving (which are on the opposite side of the cover). The silvered dial is mounted to the movement with 2 small screws located at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. Numerals and chapter ring appear to be black when viewed straight on; but when looking at an angle in a bright light it is apparent that. Only the 5 minute markers and the main body of the numbers is black and that the thin fancy swirls on the numbers and the rest of the chapter. There are a few scratches and small imperfections to the dial. The blued steel hands are in good condition, with a small. Loss of bluing to the minute hand. The watch is stem wind and stem set. Wind, the mechanism instantly’slips’ (NOT the mainspring itself), just the’gearing’ and then there is NO pressure. On the crown when it is. Since it was fully wound down. I just now tried to wind the movement again and it did the same thing; felt normal at first for half a dozen good winds and then’slip’. There is a similar issue with the. Setting of the hands; the crown will snap outward to the set position and when I first turned it the minute hand turned’normal’ for a few full revolutions and then. It’slipped’ and it would either do nothing (NOT rotate the hands) when rotating the crown back and forth or it would partially engage the minute hand. Hour hand, getting the hands’out of sync’. I have NOT removed even the front bezel of the case, so I do NOT know what is under the dial. The watch does run strong, but also could use a good clean and oil, as it has been decades since the last one! The diameter of the case is 43.65mm, with an overall height (including the bow) of 58.6mm and a thickness of 11.7mm. The collector died over 2 decades ago and collected from the 1960′s -1980′s. The watch is key wound and I have two keys for it–one that fits the winder better and one that sets the time better. The watch is in running condition but is not keeping accurate time and will no doubt require adjustment. It is about 1-3/4 in diameter. The monogram medallion has not been personalized. The watch case tests strong at 14k and starts to fade a bit at 18k, so I’m listing it as 14k when it may be a higher purity. It is not marked with the gold purity, which is typical of jewelry and watches from the 19th century. The watch is marked with (the presumed) serial number 27233, Leon Sichel and Chaux-de-Leon.
