The watch does run but has obvious wear. Like a chip in the crystal, dents and scratches. NOT TIMED FOR ACCURACY.

Strachan of Forfar Silver Pair Case Key Wind Fusee Antique Pocket Watch. This watch measures approximately 52.2 mm in diameter and 75 mm in total length including the bow. The original dial is in excellent condition – see photos. The pair case with silver hallmarks is in excellent condition with some normal wear; all covers open and close as they should with no prominent gaps – see photos. The fusee movement sets and winds smoothly. It is signed “JNO STRACHAN FORFAR 11833″ – see photos. The balance staff is intact, the balance swings freely, and it runs; over a 24-hour observation period, it ran and lost approximately 3 minutes/day. Runs and loses 3 minutes/day. Watch Company 51mm Case Manual Wind White Dial Pocket Watch -REPAIR. I wind it but it’s not working. The gold plating has worn off so it’s down to the color brass. The inner cover is loose. Aside from that nice pocket watch. They may work but may need repair, service or cleaning for them to work properly. Ask questions and i will be happy to help. The Item in this lot is in used condition. It’s old so has some visible wear, scratches and discoloration due to age and everyday use.

This is a lever fusses movement. Has a brass cover over the movement. Has a Heavy beveled glass crystal. Comes with a silver heavy chain. And it was made in 1892 so it is 133 years old. The heavy duty silver chain is a new chain. Comes with the original brass key to set the time on the hands. And wind the main spring. It dident have a fancy silver chain when I bought this watch. And it needed to be polished. Please note I do not sell very old hard to find antique key wound pocket watches that need no repair runs and keeps time by 20 sec. So a dealer could resale it for much more.
