A GOOD, ANTIQUE GENT’S GOLD PLATED LIMIT SWISS MADE HUNTER CASED POCKET WATCH. A very good quality. Gentleman’s Gold Plated, Swiss made, Hunter Cased Pocket Watch. This watch is a very nice example, in great condition and very good working order. The English made, gold plated hunter case is in very good condition, although it does have some minor indents. It is stamped with the case maker’s trade mark “ALD” for the Dennison Watch Case Company. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o’clock. It is signed by the maker Limit No. The good quality, Swiss made movement is in very good working order, running well, winds smoothly and sets as it should. It is signed by the maker. A GOOD ANTIQUE 18CT GOLD ENGLISH HUNTER CASE POCKET WATCH, ROTHERHAMS LONDON. Antique, 18CT Gold English Hunter Cased Pocket Watch by Rotherhams of London and dating from c1902. The English, plain, 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the maker’s mark “JR” for Rotherham & Sons (John Rotherham), the “crown and “18″ for 18 carat gold, the anchor Birmingham town mark and date letter “c for 1902/03. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The English Lever movement is signed by the maker “Rotherhams, London” and serial number 244430. The watch is stem wound and pin set. The white enamel dial is in good overall condition, however does have some faint hairlines. It has the hours in roman numerals and is signed by the maker. The watch measures 51mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 112.1g. The inner cuvette (dust cover) bears an interesting presentation inscription, the watch presented to a Civil Engineer. Presented to R W Newman Esq. E by Paarl Inhabitants to commemorate his erection of Huguenot Bridge, August 1st 1905. The gold plated case is 52.5mm in diameter. Dial has a few very faint cracks, excellent case with the case back engraved 1903. With a service it will be a great pocket watch.
