Offered is an 18s Elgin 23J Veritas RR pocket watch. The watch has flaws: the dial should be replaced, and it is not running due to at least a bad balance staff. However, the Boss 25 year case is crisp and nearly new – glass crystal, stiff bow, only flaw is minor scratching near where the back separates from the body, not distracting and mentioned only for accuracy. The case is a Dennison MOON 20 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of 10ct gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. Good condition case, very clean and bright throughout, all hinges are good, all covers open and close well. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Front and rear covers open to 90 degrees. Fantastic condition case, no marks or scratches worth mentioning. The dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks or chips, signed “Waltham”. Arabic numbers, gold hands. The movement is a Waltham model 1899 dating to 1907, damascened, gold adjuster star, gold center wheel, running well and keeps good time. Good acrylic crystal in great condition. Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy “unbreakable” mainspring. Presented in a fitted, red velvet pocket watch box with brass trim. Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day. I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition.
