The width of the watch without the crown is about 48mm. The 0.900 silver hunter niello case features beautiful rose gold flowers. Presented is an all original WWII (1942) vintage Hamilton Grade 4992B with its interesting 24 hour dial, sharp. 800 silver open face military case, and great running movement. It was serviced about a year ago and is running great. It is marked Hamilton Watch Co. USA 4992B 22 Jewels Adj. And 6 Positions and bears the serial number 4C50881. The balance has great motion and the only thing I see is some minor oxydation on the winding wheels and regulator. The unique single sunk melamine 24 hour dial dial is in great condition with no issues that I can find. It features bold boxcar numbers with an inner 24 hour track and is signed “Hamilton” in block. Please note the red sweep second hand and small blued second hand are in sync. 800 silver case is in great shape as well, with no dents or dings, once again, no issues. Finally, I’d just like to add that it has an excellent, possibly original glass crystal. Neat 1 of a kind Hamilton 4992B. Eugène Bornand & Cie. Chronograph Silver Case Pocket Watch – No Reserve!! Offered for sale is this beautiful and very rare chronograph from Eugène Bornand & Cie. This watch is equipped with an modified / custom made Martel Cal. 296 – 19”’ chronograph movement. Martel used the same movement for creating Universal Genève Kaliber 19 296. The Martel Watch Company in Les Ponts-de-Martel had supplied movements for many of Universal Genève’s chronographic timepieces since 1918, with Universal adapting the complications as Cal 285′s. However, the mechanisms would be rechristened as Zenith 146′s, 146D’s and 146H’s when competing Le Locle watchmaker Zenith acquired Martel, and effectively all of its patents, by 1960. Only a real collector knows the true value of this watch (Estimated: 1200 – 1800 GBP). However, as usually there is no reserved price. YOU WILL DECIDE THE CORRECT PRICE! Condition as in the pictures, used with age related issues. Used, but very clean. The watch is in good working condition, running STRONG and keeping excellent time. However, for optimal performances cleaned / serviced is to be done. One button action Swiss made Martel Cal. Stem wind and stem set, unmarked. All functions are working properly. Winding ok, time setting ok. The chronograph starts, stop and reset sharp to 0. The movement comes in a 0,900 silver open face case. The case has a back cover, a dust cover and a front cover which are closing firmly, with a snap. On the dust cover is engraved Eugène Bornand & Cie. On the back cover there is a wonderful silver monogram engraved. Normal minor dents and opening scratches. The watch measure 51 mm in diameter and weights together with the silver marked chain 120 grams. The white enamel dial and the hands are. In very good condition please see the pictures. Outer five-minute divisions, outer 1/5 second divisions for chronograph. The dial has full set of original hands. Is also marked Eugène Bornand & Cie.
