Pocket Watch Case

I have for sale a rather rare unsigned deck watch, the movement is an EMT (Tissot) provided by Golay & Son Ltd. Of London – the same as those used in many of the Royal Navy HS3 deck chronometers. Stainless steel screw case with coin edge/milled bezel and caseback. The watch is in nice cosmetic condition and good running order however the service history is not known so one is recommended. The watch is about 80.5mm from top to bottom including the crown. The body is about 62.5mm in diameter. Please see my other auctions for more watches. Up for sale is 40′s Tissot pocket watch. Original dial in fair, unrestored condition. Stunning colorful patina on the numerals. Chromium steel case with snap back on hinge. Possibly the finest example of a high class deck watch :”A very nice watch you have”, the words of Konrad Kirrim, a well known expert in the field of such watches. Supplied during WW2 the dial is signed EMT 1282 with the MOD broad arrow above the 6. The porcelain enamel white dial is in excellent condition with no cracks or crazing having clear. Arabic numbers and an outer 60 sec ring. The blued hands are like new. The glass is unmarked. The case back is marked HS broad arrow 3 AND Snap on back but there are some slight signs of scratches closed to the letter S. The movement is the high quality 15 jewel friction set adjustable in 2 positions Unitas Cal. 426-1 from H Golay and Sons, Case size being 50 mm. The deck box is numbered 110 with a working front clasp. The watch come complete with a CHRONOMETER RATE CERTIFICATE, FROM KINGSTON OBSERVATORY HULL DATE 18/6/74, It lost 2 seconds in 24 hours. GRADE: 9.5/10 – Nice substantial (approx size 16 US) OF case in solid gold marked for 18KT and signed LT & Co. “, and inner dust cover “L. Geneva – matched numbers 25075 with date of the case product inscribed 1895. Beautiful piece with a Roman dial, spade hands, register indicator and seconds. Watch has a high-grade Swiss movement. Movement is unmarked but is highly jeweled – even the pallet stones are rubies – with a gold train and nickel plated bridges. Complication is a split-second chronograph with register. CONDITION: Dial is exceptional/mint – clean, no cracks or chips. In good running condition but service history is unknown. Movement and case are clean. Solid gold case in excellent condition, tight hinges, one 3mm side ding hard to see. The watch sets and keeps time very well – stayed spot on my digital clock for 12 hour period before rewind. The chronograph works on both the main and the split – reset works to zero. For regular use a service check from a qualified professional is recommended.
