LONGINES 18K 18KT SOLID GOLD E. FRANCILLON HUNTER CASE POCKET WATCH w/CHAIN, KEY. Very ornate and clean watch in good working order and keeping good time. Solid 18k gold case. Comes with chain (gold filled) and ornate key (not sure if the key is gold). The dial is very clean. I do not see any cracks or chips. See last photo with bezel and crystal removed. Measures 44 mm in diameter. Weight of watch only is 70.5 grams. Movement is marked E. Francillon with serial number 48442. In Great condition – please see pictures. The movement has a serial number 1583550 which dates it to be manufactured in 1885. The Enamel Dial, Hands and Acrylic Crystal are in immaculate mint condition please see the pictures. The case is in Excellent Condition. The Watch size is 51MM WITH CROWN. The watch was recently serviced, running STRONG and keeping excellent time. Brief History: American Waltham Watch Company. The American Waltham watch factory on the banks of the Charles River. The American Waltham Watch Company had its beginnings in 1850 in Roxbury, Massachusetts. The company was founded by David Davis, Aaron Dennison, and Edward Howard. Their vision was to form a watch company that could produce high-quality watches at a lower cost using interchangeable parts. With financial backing from Samuel Curtis, of small-arms manufacturing fame, the watch production began in 1851, and the first small group of watches were finished in late 1852. The first watches produced went to officials of the company, and it was not until 1853 that the first watches were offered for sale to the public. Problems were encountered with the new production methods. Geneva – matched numbers 25075 with date of the case product inscribed 1895. Beautiful piece with a Roman dial, spade hands, register indicator and seconds. Watch has a high-grade Swiss movement. Movement is unmarked but is highly jeweled – even the pallet stones are rubies – with a gold train and nickel plated bridges. Complication is a split-second chronograph with register. CONDITION: Dial is exceptional/mint – clean, no cracks or chips. In good running condition but service history is unknown. Movement and case are clean. Solid gold case in excellent condition, tight hinges, one 3mm side ding hard to see. The watch sets and keeps time very well – stayed spot on my digital clock for 12 hour period before rewind. The chronograph works on both the main and the split – reset works to zero. For regular use a service check from a qualified professional is recommended. ANTIQUE 18KT GOLD J. VERY IMPORTANT ITEM INFORMATION, PLEASE READ! French it has stunning Niello Enamel on front and back covers. The face has a beautiful Damascene design of a Village Scene. On front there is a fancily engraved Lion with Shield surrounded by flowers and scrolls, the Shield would be perfect for Monogramming. This is accented by Black Niello Enamel. On back are more scrolls and flowers in an Urn with Black Niello Enamel. It is marked “18K” on the ball at the top and inside the case “K 18″, it’s heavy, it weighs 69.4 grams or 2.44 ounces, of course some of that weight is the inner works. Circa 1830 it does have some issues, glass is missing over the face as is the 6, there is a spot of missing enamel on the Lion and we don’t have the key so we have no idea if it works You will also receive a black ribbon pocketwatch chain.
