This fine 14K gold pocket watch features a richly engraved front and back cover with a lightly etched monogram at the bottom front cover as seen in the photos above. The porcelain white dial is in fine condition with one small hairline fracture near the 7′ O clock mark. The solid 14K gold back, front and cuvee’ have matching numbers of 810837 and with the movement this watch has been dated to 1900. The watch features a classically elegant solid 14k gold case with a fine quality 17 jewel movement. The movement is numbered 1795M. The reverse of the case is engraved with a dedication to the employee. The watch retains its original velvet-lined presentation case. This is a beautiful watch by a noted Swiss watchmaker. Here are the details. 3,693,030, circa 1920, 17 size, open face, 23 jewels, adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, Model 10, Grade Sangamo Special, large raised gold jewel settings, full exposed gold train, gold balance screws, bridge nickel plate, stem wind, lever set railroad-grade movement. This fine antique watch is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on my 3rd wind with no effort, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds excellent time but has not been further regulated or adjusted! Appearance-wise this movement is looking great, and I regret that these photos do not quite do it full justice. It has bright, spotlessly clean winding wheels, brilliantly bright and clean bridge nickel plates, all of the eye-catching red engraving paint intact, spotless correct elongated regulator needle and whip, super pristine looking down inside, and running strong and true! Dial : Illinois “Blindman” style, 16 size, open face, double sunk enamel, ultra bold black Arabic numerals with surrounding “arrows-in” black five-minute-markers dial! This dial is in perfect condition, with nary a sign of any hairlines, chips, cracks, chaffing, stains or scratches!! Hands : Illinois 16 size, factory original (not doctored-up after-market) plum colored matching “whip” design. This fine set of hands are in excellent condition, entirely unbent and undamaged, with darn near 100% of the factory-original plum coloring still intact! Case : Star model 10K warm-toned rose gold fill, pendant set and slot right, screw-back-and-bezel model! This case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. The correct original crown’s fluting is super crisp and distinct for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely. The bow is also its correct original, shows zero brass or damage, and swings loose. The crystal is a brand new looking thick beveled mineral glass model with no issues. The case does show minimal wear, including light, even carrying wear, zero marrings or doodlings, zero brass anywhere detectable to the attractive rose gold finish, and absolutely, positively no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions! I’ve owned this fine timepiece for 20-odd years and it has always run accurately and never failed to please and delight!!
