Scarce 16 size open face gold-filled Pugh Brothers Special Railroad Model pocket watch case. The Pugh Brothers were official watch inspectors for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and their Special Railroad Model cases were produced by the Wadsworth Watch Case Co. And feature terrific inner lid engraving with the words “Pugh Brothers, Jewelry, Pittsburg PA, Special Railroad Model”, an image of an oncoming train, and a terrific fancy decorative engraving around the perimeter. This example i s particularly attractive as its exterior also has an engraved train image. Very nice case with a strong in hand look and feel. Rear of case has good engraving detail showing just some mild wear at its shoulders, and rear of case has some mild shallow compression type denting at center. Here I have a 1921 Illinois Bunn Special size 16s open face, stem wind and lever set with beautiful blue hands. Solid gold train, adjusted to 6 positions. I think the Bunn Special is one of the nicest looking and highest quality movements of most RR grade watches. The “Ray” damaskeening is in great condition. The movement is also in mint condition. It was cleaned and serviced within 6 months so it’s ready to carry. I have adjusted the accuracy and it’s running within a few seconds off in 24 hours. The case is an Illinois Bunn Special Wadsworth 14k WGF case. Both the front and back screw onto the case without any problems. This case is also in mint condition with just a little light scratching on the polished back. There’s a small amount of brassing (pictured) on the back right where the back screws to the main case. It is only on the one side. That’s all I can see? The bow is a bit loose but it will stand up by itself. It’s just not very stiff. The crystal is a new bulls eye crystal. Here’s a fairly uncommon 18 size Hamilton 941 with two tone special finish. The original porcelain multi colored dial is signed Hamilton. It has a light blue center with a darker blue border that is much more handsome. In hand than in the pictures. There is faint hairlines at 3. The fancy guilt hands. Are in fine condition and the crystal appears to be glass and scratch free. The movement is spectacular. There is no wash out to the gold inlay. The hardware is all in very nice shape. It winds superb and runs strong. It keeps accurate time. The Fahy’s No. 1 Conquerer heavy box hinge case is in fine condition. Degrees and close properly. Engravings are still very sharp and there.
