Pocket Watch Case

This is a very rare, beautiful pocket watch. It features a gilt case, a triple sunk ivory color dial with roman numerals. It was manufactured about 1890 with a production run of ONLY 400. There is wear on the back case where the gold plating has worn through from use, please look carefully at the pictures. SOUTH BEND STUDEBAKER RUNS! 21 JEWEL 8ADJ 16 SIZE POCKET WATCH STRONG RUNNING. Good running example of a South Bend Studebaker eight adjustment high-grade Antique Pocket Watch. Watch is 16 size and marked Studebaker 8 adjustments, South Bend Watch Company 21 jewels double roller. An interesting Watch related to the famous Studebaker brothers and the Studebaker car company. Watch runs good and seems to keep time well but I have not checked it over a long period. Winds and sets well and case open and closes easily. Case has pattern that is sharp with little wear and is an attractive case. Dial looks to be an original silver colored Arabic Railroad dial that is marked Studebaker but shows some discoloration and use. Please see pictures for more information and condition. Illinois pocket watch 17 jewel 12 size. Case is a Dueber Warranted 20 years gold filled. Case has some wear and some dings and scratches. The bow has some discoloration. Glass crystal is clean and may have some very slight scratches. Watch is a pin set in a lever set case and dial does have some wear and is a little dirty but has a sunken dial. RARE EARLY HAMILTON 973-16s 17J RAILROAD-GLASS BACK CASE CONVERSION DIAL RUNS. Early Hamilton Grade 973 serial number 71786. Watch is a unique watch that is in a factory made class back case and that is a positive set Hamilton Movement. Watch is a railroad grade at the time Hamilton made it and is marked adjusted. Watch is beautifully finished with nice Damaskeening and Damaskeened winding wheels. Dial is an interesting Hamilton Conversion dial to make the watch an open face watch. Dial is in very nice condition case shows a little wear and movement is strong running and keeps time, but I have not checked it over a long period.
